Lovely decorated 17th century apartment (ground floor) in the most beautiful part of historical Leiden. Walking distance to/from the Central Station. Airport by train: 20, Amsterdam: 30 minutes. Two persons, no children, baby's OK. No smoking.
The apartment on the groundfloor is very comfortable, the rooms are spacious enough and the small patio is nice to have a drink or a meal outside.
Quest have access to all parts of the apartment, all wardrobes, cupboards etc. Whatever is in stock, like coffee, tea, olive oil, etc is free for the guests. They can, if they wish, also use the big historical cave/cellar underneath.
Interaction with Guests
Only meeting them on arrival to hand over the keys.
The neighbourhood is like being back in time for at least 300 years. Dominated by the church of St. Pieter built in 1390. In daytime every hour you hear the sound of a carillon from the historical City Hall. Restaurants, bars are everywhere near by and so is the market alongside the canals on wednesdays and saterdays.
Busstop 1 minute walking distance, Central Station on 12 minutes walking distance (or 5 minutes by bus). By train you will be in Amsterdam or the Hague within 30 minutes. After a day's visit in the big city it will be nice to come back in the peaceful friendly town of Leiden. Distance to the beach only 12 km.
Other Things to Note
Windows and doors have beautifully decorated stained glasses with small panels that look like paintings made by Rembrandt.
No smoking. No pats. No use of machines or other noises in the kitchen between 10.00 pm (22.00h) and 8.00 am the next morning, because of the neighbour who has his bedroom next to the kitchen.
