Everything we dreamed of and more. Lara and her husband were the best hostes, so helpfull. We would definitely go back :-) A little piece of heaven. Thank you so much, and sorry for the noice. Pure Vida
Ripartirei domani!!!Pura vida!
This was a super awesome place. It's everything I imagined and more. It was one of the most restful sleeps I had the whole trip, secluded off the road and in the jungle. Both of the hosts were incredibly nice and extremely helpful. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is in the area.
Nice place, close to Puerto Viejo (5 min by car). Host was accomodating with check-out time. Thank you.
The Wild Side was a great place to stay. The little house is literally in the jungle! Your backyard is full of animals and beautiful plants! We were able to relax and feel at home. Also the location of the Wild Side was great. We preferred quiet, tranquil Cocles a lot more than Puerto Viejo. Our favourite place to eat was Casa del Pan. We hired bikes from Casa Wild Side which I can only recommend for getting around! You can go to Punta Uva or even Manzanillo which has great beaches & restaurants.
Eric & Lara were very nice and helpful. Lara even gave us an adapter which was great.
As we stayed for quite a long time (7 nights) some stuff for cleaning the toilet/shower would have been great but that's probably just me and because of our long stay. The great thing is you can cook your own meals with food from the supermarket which is about 10 min walk away, this saved us a lot of money as food is very expensive in Costa Rica!
And we could just chill on the lovely terrace and get visits from all kind of wild life:) for a city girl like me certainly an experience incl. the creepy crawlers. Would definitley stay here again.
Awesome location, very friendly and accommodating hosts, easy to find, comfortable bed and pillows, etc… The Wild Side made for a perfect end to our vacation. The little beach directly across the main road from the driveway is a hidden gem, plus you are within easy biking distance from Puerto Viejo and Punta Uva. Highly recommend! Our only regret is we didn't stay here longer!
Eric and Lara were great hosts. Eric greated us at our arrival and kindly showed us the house as well as gave us great suggestions on beaches to visit along the cost. House is cozy, functional and welcoming. Nature all around is beautiful. Great spot just few minutes drive from Puerto Viejo and wild beaches. Glad we selected our stay at the Wild Side.

My name is Lara and, together with my husband Eric, we have created The Wild Side. We wanted something different than what we normally find while travelling in Costa Rica. We wanted to offer an affordable stay, but it be at the same time elegant, simple, and, above all, clean. Our concept is geared toward single travellers or couples who want a quiet place to rest, a kitchen to prepare meals, and a base to enjoy what the area offers.
Originally I am from Savannah, Georgia, and Eric is from Sitges, Spain. We are both dedicated surfers and enjoy the peace of natural living.
I work as a hairstylist in my own jungle salon. Eric is an artist/woodworker..his handmade wooden toys can be found in specialty shops in Puerto Viejo.
