Awesome location, very friendly and accommodating hosts, easy to find, comfortable bed and pillows, etc… The Wild Side made for a perfect end to our vacation. The little beach directly across the main road from the driveway is a hidden gem, plus you are within easy biking distance from Puerto Viejo and Punta Uva. Highly recommend! Our only regret is we didn't stay here longer!
Eric and Lara were great hosts. Eric greated us at our arrival and kindly showed us the house as well as gave us great suggestions on beaches to visit along the cost. House is cozy, functional and welcoming. Nature all around is beautiful. Great spot just few minutes drive from Puerto Viejo and wild beaches. Glad we selected our stay at the Wild Side.
This was a lovely, peaceful place-just the right distance away from the downtown area of Puerto Viejo-yet central to everything. We rented bikes from Lara and her partner-everything is in easy biking distance! The bed was comfortable, the accommodations clean and the hosts super friendly and knowledgeable. If you visit here-take a bike ride to Puerto Uva beach-we found it the best beach in the area!
I spent 4 days in the Casa Verde with my girlfriend. Lara answered real fast to my requests. Her husband Eric took care of us when we arrived and advised us. He's reaaly nice. The house is exactly what we were looking for : quiet place but close to the beaches and Puerto Viejo. I fully recommend this place with an affordable price. Thanks again for everything
Lara and Eric gave us a very warm welcome, even though we arrived a bit too early. The bungalow is beautifully designed and perfectly set into their amazing lot. You can enjoy privacy while watching agutis, kinkajous, frogs, butterflies and sloths from the terrace. The houses are also perfectly built for rainy days, as the terrace has a roof and you can relax in the cozy hammock. The kitchen of the bungalow is perfect for preparing breakfast yourselves. Lara was very helpful borrowing us some kitchen utensils we were missing. Everything you'll need is a bike ride away. We enjoyed our private tour in the Jaguar Rescue Center a lot (Do book a private Tour in advance. You will regret missing it!), a bike ride into Puerto Viejo as well as a day at Playa Chiquita. We can also recommend the spanish restaurant La Casita Azul. It serves amazing food. Lara and Eric own a little paradise. Enjoy it too!
Lara and Eric were great hosts. We had a lovely time staying at their bungalows! The property is walking distance to the beach and a perfect location if you want to be a little removed from the party scene of Puerto Viejo. Bike rentals right across the street, which allow for easy access to everything!
Dommage.

My name is Lara and, together with my husband Eric, we have created The Wild Side. We wanted something different than what we normally find while travelling in Costa Rica. We wanted to offer an affordable stay, but it be at the same time elegant, simple, and, above all, clean. Our concept is geared toward single travellers or couples who want a quiet place to rest, a kitchen to prepare meals, and a base to enjoy what the area offers.
Originally I am from Savannah, Georgia, and Eric is from Sitges, Spain. We are both dedicated surfers and enjoy the peace of natural living.
I work as a hairstylist in my own jungle salon. Eric is an artist/woodworker..his handmade wooden toys can be found in specialty shops in Puerto Viejo.
