Shangri Loyd is a private poolside oasis tucked in the Heart of Historic Burnet, TX. Burnet is home to the Bluebonnet Festival, Christmas on the Square and the destination of the Hill Country Flyer scenic train tour. We are walking distance from downtown shops and restaurants and Main Street Bethlehem (December weekend,) and 10-15 minutes driving distance from Inks Lake, Longhorn Cavern, Canyon of the Eagles, Perissos and Fall Creek Wineries, Marble Falls, Lake LBJ and Lake Buchanan. The cabana is 450sqft with saltillo floors, imported tile shower and vanity, kitchenette with frig, microwave, and coffee maker. It sleeps 2 with a comfy queen bed and separate seating area. French doors and huge windows to enjoy the private pool view.
Please be respectful of the grounds and property and leave things as they were when you came. No smoking inside the cabana. NO GLASS at anytime around the pool, and swim AT YOUR OWN RISK. Pool towels may be used, but please leave with the bath towels at the end of your stay. Please respect the privacy of the residency and remain inside the iron fence area. Park directly in front of garage and enter through iron gate to pool area/cabana. There is a lockbox on the cabana door which holds the key for use during your stay. Return the key to the lockbox when you leave. You'll need to text or email me in advance of your stay for the combo.
Although we were not able to stay long at Gayle's awesome Cabana, we were made to feel as welcome as if we were staying for the week. The directions were spot-on, and the key was in the lockbox, with a mechanism even I could open.
We got a chance to meet Gayle, who was very cordial and accomodating.
The Cabana was great - clean, with a "beach" feel. We felt very safe and secure - the neighborhood was very quiet.
I would recommend Gayle's Cabana to anyone wanting a clean, comfortable place to stay in the Burnet area.
If you're looking for a quaint beach cabana in a quiet Hill Country town, ShangriLoyd is your spot. The cabana has all the comforts of home and then some! After hiking Enchanted Rock and doing some Wildflower looking, it was a great place to come home to and enjoy a glass of wine on the patio. Gayle went out of her way to make sure we were taken care, too. This is a beautiful place and more than it's description!
I came to Burnet for one night with my boyfriend for the Bluebonnet Festival and to go to Perissos Winery. Shangri Loyd was the perfect place for us to stay! Quiet, no hassle, private, and very close to the festival. The pool and yard was beautiful - wish it would have been warmer so we could have taken a swim. Gayle was lovely to deal with -very quick to respond to any questions I had and even gave me some restaurant suggestions. Great experience overall!
Beautiful pool and yard and sleeping to the water sounds delightful. Very comfortable cozy bed. Artsy cool decor. We loved it and will be back!
Gayle was not as welcoming as those at Motel Six, not that she didn't come to the door whenever i knocked and was pleasant enough, yet i felt like i was intruding on her time and space. Other than unlocking the door for me, that was about all the welcome i got. Maybe it was a bad week for her. The house was neat and clean and had proper amenities. Pool area was nice but the furniture run down and old--not too much re-investment made in her little profit center. Pool was running and plenty of leaves in and around the pool. I don't think they did anything short of cleaning the apartment to appear welcoming. Trash can partially blocking the driveway entrance...for two days. I'm probably too picky being a host myself and thinking others might be the same way as I host. It was a decent value for the money, but less than i expected.
Motel Six clientele is usually never attracted to Shangri Loyd at all. We are blessed to entice esoteric adventurers who wish to enjoy the quiet and beauty of a nature inspired water and flora setting WITHOUT pesky and intrusive hosts. As Michael's Airbnb staying experience grows, perhaps he will consider the description of selected places to stay, carefully review the host rules and expectations, access accommodations, etc, PRIOR to booking. That's truly one of the fantastic qualities about staying with individuals versus chain establishments - something for everyone!
This little island in the middle of a neighborhood was a surprise. I'm so glad I decided to go with this oasis verses a local motel. I was in for the weekend and had my daughter with me and just wanted a comfy place for us to share together. Although the timing was off to enjoy the pool we were entertained with the little critters that hung around. Nature is what we enjoy and we did just that at this place. The water was cold but the sun made it toasty enough for us to enjoy the beauty and tranquility at our feet. I will be back next time I'm in the area. Enjoyed it very much. You will not be disappointed. :)

Our experience at Shangri Lloyd was wonderful. We were given a warm place to stay, clean sheets, and peace and quiet to relax and sort through our trip and wedding attendance. It was a wonderful oasis and very much appreciated.
