If airbnb had a contest for best host, Juan would get my vote. He fixed us shrimp he had caught himself, and breakfast was big and beautiful, with fruit grown from his own property. Juan is a chef extraordinaire. Juan has an upbeat personality. We wanted to stay forever. Love you Juan.

Unfortunately, we only had the one night in Sarchi but staying with Juan was the best decision we made. What a wonderful way to start our vacation! Juan and his wife have a warm and inviting home. The space was just right for our party of 6 adults. The beds were comfortable and everything was spotless too. Juan provided a wonderful breakfast of warm bread, tropical fruits, eggs, breakfast cereal and really special coffee! He was the perfect host and was really patient with all of our questions! We'd definitely recommend staying here when you're in the area.

Juan de Dios and his wife are excellent people, fun to talk to and all around welcoming. They gave great advice to our niece regarding her upcoming wedding and marriage. We were only there for a few hours because we needed a place to rest, refresh and a ride to the airport and it was perfect for us.

Juan and Patricia were awesome hosts! Juan drove us to the beach and back, showed us some cool places along the way, and arrived promptly at the time we agreed upon. Patricia cooked breakfast and dinner for us and is a great cook! The house was beautiful and well taken care of. And Steve made the whole process of booking and coordinating trip plans very easy. I would definitely recommend staying there!

Juan and Patricia were excellent hosts. Very accommodating and helpful in everyway. So laid back, Juan's favourite expression was, 'Don't worry, Be happy.' Patricia is an excellent cook. My group of 6 did breakfast everyday and dinner a few nights. We had two persons who had Gluten allergies and she was sensitive to that. Coordinating things prior to our arrival with Steve was great as well. He was always quick to answer any questions and make any adjustments to the reservations as need. All in all they treated us like family and it was sad to say goodbye. Would definitely stay with them again on a future trip to Costa Rica.

Juan and Patricia were amazing hosts, going above and beyond to care for us and make us feel like family. Juan was helpful with places to go, and at times was as much a tour guide as host. Patricia cooked breakfast, which is included, but also offered to cook a few other meals for us (or just made a pot of something delicious with enough to share with our family). They left us our privacy when we wanted it, but also shared drinks and laughs on the front porch a few evenings. Sarchi is not a fancy tourist town. In fact, while they bring tourist buses to the several shops that sell locally made crafts, this is a small Costa Rican town without hotels or tourist resorts. This is a place to experience Costa Rica as a local. We very much enjoyed walking through the town, shopping at the local stores and experiencing the culture as it is.

Patricia and Juan (Steven's parents) are some of the most welcoming and friendly people I have ever met. They met us at the airport and made sure we got to their place ok. They cooked for us and provided transportation, translation, and anything else we needed. Their house was clean, not too far away from the airport, and on a quiet street away from major traffic. We could not have asked for a better experience

Hello! We are two Government professionals living in the SW Waterfront quadrant of our nation's capital, Washington, DC. We'd love to host you!

Steve has been in the DC area for 4 years and has loved every minute of it. He was born in a small town in Costa Rica, and after 12 years in the US Navy and traveling the world, he now calls DC his home, but never passes up an opportunity to visit his homeland. Brian grew up in Northern Virginia and has been in the area for over 25 years.

We both love food and cooking, and we enjoy trying new cuisines from all over the globe.

We enjoy having friends over on the weekends, taking full advantage of the roof deck lounge area and experiencing some of the best sunsets DC has to offer! When we are not hosting, we are out catching a DC United soccer game or a Nationals baseball Game.

We are both active and are avid weight lifters. Brian has competed in Maryland's Strongest Man, and I have competed in Tough Mudder races.

Steve manages the stays on AirBnB for the guests at his family's Costa Rican home. If you have ever thought about visiting Central America, Costa Rica is the perfect vacation getaway!

We hope to hear from you! Safe and happy travels!
