Long read:

As you can see from the map, we are located three minutes by foot (291 m) from Kembangan mrt (EW6) which is very convenient if you are zipping around Singapore. You could take the mrt from Changi Airport and be at our house within 35 minutes - and that's includes the walk from the train station to the house. By taxi from the airport would be about 15 minutes. And to Orchard Road, that's about 18 minutes from the nearest mrt station including one change - this is faster than a cab, particularly during peak hours when it can be hard to find one.

Breakfast is included.

Bedroom configuration is as follows:

Bedroom named 'Plumeria' (area, 21 sq m, second floor) - one double bed (size 2 x 1.45 m), and another double bed (size 1.9 x 1.5 m), one ottoman that converts to a single bed - maximum five people

It is air-conditioned and has a ceiling fan. There is free wifi connection throughout the house.

Children, aged ten and below, who are sharing the room with paying adults, are free.

In the bedroom there will be an electric kettle, instant coffee/tea sachets, a landline phone with intercom to all rooms and a safe. There is also a hairdryer and IPad/IPhone/IPod docking device which comes with radio and alarm, and an IPad.

More about the house - this is a hosted stay - I live in the house. Landed corner semi-detached house with small but pretty garden, koi pond and artfully decorated rooms. You will have access to ground floor living and dining rooms, as well as the kitchen, should you want to cook. If cooking, please do the washing-up. Please help yourself to what condiments we have.

There is a washing machine (no dryer). Laundry is on a do-it-yourself basis. There are pull down poles under cover so drying is not a problem.

Within a minute's walk you have access to two basketball courts, two playgrounds, as well as a 420-metre jogging/walking track, all open to the public.

We are 35 minutes by foot from the South China Sea. Just follow the park connector southwards and get a feel of residential Singapore along the way. When there, the East Coast Park provides ample opportunity for food, cycling (you can rent bikes there), camping (you need a permit), swimming, etc.

PLEASE READ THIS IF INTERESTED IN BOOKING:

1. My rates are non-negotiable.

2. As I am sharing my home with you, I would like to know briefly more about the purpose of your visit, who is in your party (the relationship), and you need to upload a frontal photo in your Airbnb profile. I need to see clearly what you look like. If you book without sending a suitable photo, I will still ask for one before I accept.

3. The person enquiring should also be needing accommodation.

4. The purpose of your stay with me should only be for genuine overnight accommodation - I am not interested in leasing my rooms out on an hourly basis. Please note that no business should be transacted within my premises with any third party in physical presence. And if you are thinking of my place for a photo shoot or party or any sort of business or personal event, the answer is no, sorry.

5. My daily rate is based on the profile of the tourist. Out after breakfast and back in the evening - early or late. If you intend to be in your room the whole day, you must let me know at the time you make your booking, as there will be a surcharge for extended use of air conditioning.

6. Check in/out time 12 noon. Please realise that I cannot commit to early check-in/late check-out at the time you make your booking. If you need a guaranteed early check-in or late check-out I suggest you book an extra day pre or post the core period. Should you have to vacate your room by 12 noon, you can leave your luggage in my storeroom until you need to go to the airport. There is also a small spare bathroom you could use to freshen up.

7. I sometimes get asked if house previews are available before you book - the answer would be no. The photos you see of the house and rooms are accurate; if they weren't there would be some mention about this in guests' reviews. At present, I am only entertaining short-term accommodation and, as such, I feel previews are unnecessary. Should you have a specific question in mind about the room, however, I would be very happy to answer via email.

8. I have indoor cats who mind their own business and will not approach you except for one very friendly cat. So if you are very allergic or scared of cats, perhaps this is not the place for you.

9. house rules:
strictly no smoking indoors
switch off air conditioner, lights, fan, and water heater when you leave the room
no visitors without prior permission - I might add that I don't expect your visitor to stay longer than half an hour and they are to be entertained in the living room.

  • This room is really comfortable for 2 person sleeping with their own bed! Undoubtedly, my husband and I will choose Bianca's house whenever we come to SIngapore!

    April 2014
  • I made my decision to stay Bianca's house by all of the great reviews, and I could feel exactly the same as the people. The house was very near to the MRT station. I found out the map on Airbnb shows a wrong house which is much further to MRT. So I would like to inform you that Bianca's house is very close to the Kembangan station. The breakfast everyday was amazing. All 4 of us enjoyed every morning! The room was very clean, the beds were very comfortable. The things all we need were all in the room. So convenient! I would like to say THANK YOU to both Bianca and her helper(sorry, I don't know her name..) for how they would be helpful and supportive for us all the time, especially for my niece! She won't forget you all!
I totally would like to recomend you Bianca's house to stay!
See you soon again, Bianca! :)

  • Bianca is a very great host. She is very hospitable and helpful. We are very happy with our stay here at the Plumeria room with our 2 kids. The kids enjoyed talking to Auntie Bianca every morning whilst having their breakfast. They also love playing with the magnetic toy that Bianca placed inside our room. We will surely stay with Bianca again on our next vacation in Singapore.

  • It was a very pleasent stay at Bianca's. She is a wonderful and very freindly host. her warm and welcoming nature & interesting conversations makes you feel at home. The place is very clean, tidy and convenietly located. I must add that the house is beautiful & tastefully decorated. As a person who is quite familiar with Singapore, I can safely reccomend Bianca's as one of the best places to stay during your visit to the island.

  • Bianca is an excellent host! Very clean and organized place. We love the location. It's near kembangan MRT. From the house, the room, the bath room, the food and the host who is very accommodating, we have nothing to say but EXCELLENT! We love talking and laughing during breakfast. We would love coming back and stay at bianca's place again. Highly recommended to everyone.

  • our stay was wonderful. Bianca and her assistant are very nice and friendly. the room had everything you need. Unfortunately our visit was short and we slept a lot after a long flight. But we still managed to get acquainted with this wonderful city. Location is good! to marina bay by taxi about 10-15 minutes.

    March 2014
  • Bianca is such a great host! She prepared us different warm breakfast every morning, and she was always around to give us tips about Singapore. The house is huge and comfortable. Make sure to spend a relaxing afternoon on the balcony :) I hope to come back next time! Great experience here in Singapore!

  • Highly recommended stay! My friends and I were highschool graduates, inexperienced with travelling, and noticed how expensive accommodation was in Singapore. We decided to go through the AirBnB route and wow we are so glad. Bianca's place is GORGEOUS. It was just such a wonderful and beautiful place. Although it is not in the heart of the busy core of Singapore, it is actually really conveniently located nearby the train station designed to take you anywhere you want rapidly. Despite my friends and I usually awkward with people we've just met, Bianca was easy-going and friendly to talk to. I felt at home immediately. Also her cats are so cute! Breakfast every morning was delicious and almost made me homesick as we had been travelling in other cities for the past 2 weeks with fast food or instant noodles every morning. I wish I had stayed longer! Definitely will stay at Bianca's place again if I were to visit Singapore again.

  • The Breezy East Plumeria room was adorable and Bianca, our host was fantastic. We particularly enjoyed taking breakfast with the other guests as the food was delicious and Bianca was excellent at breaking the ice and keeping the conversation going. We also especially liked the rain shower. Our room was up a couple flights of stairs and was very private, plus her whole place feels very safe. The train is an easy walk away so the entire city is very accessible. Public transportation is very good in Singapore. Special Kudos to Bianca for having the taxi on speed dial when we caught the wrong train back from lunch and were running late for our plane!

About
I am Singaporean - born here and am of Eurasian ancestry, in my fifties, now retired (used to be in retail). I like the idea of hosting - providing a safe haven for travellers has always appealed to me. And the income I get from it can go back to the house by way of repairs and renovations. Also, you learn a lot from travellers all over the world and make lots of friends. I encourage everyone to be a host because getting to know people must be one of the best jobs in the world!
