Other things to note
We strive to provide the best comfort and safety. However, the volcano A-frame house is in an island setting where limited services are available.
Most of us grew up in a small, medium or busy mega city, town or place where all comforts and amenities are within our reach and we easily forgot that there exist a place where city comforts are lacking in exchange for a serene, tranquil, relaxing, refreshing and wild nature filled setting.
The following must be taken into account :
1. The house is on a hilly side of the island with lush forests, trees and hills, all of these can affect the signal source for internet and TV. Even other accommodation in town are experiencing intermittent internet signals and intermittent electric power which is a constant occurrence in an island setting. Most accommodation has chosen not to provide wifi internet because of this problem.
2. Wifi in the house is always on but the internet signal will always depend on the signal source that comes from the city below which can be blocked by many factors (wind direction, hills, trees, rain etc).
3. Electricity may also come and go, as the whole island is suffering from overloading of its capacity to its supply. These factors are beyond our control.
4. We are situated in an island of lush green rainforest, and as such insects, moths, ants, bees, etc may occasionally visit the house especially if the house is the only source of light at night (insects are attracted by the light source). This is also true anywhere you go in the island.
5. Water is sourced from a natural spring located at the top of the mountain and is potable and refreshing, It is a cold mountain spring water that continuously flowing from the source, hence, water might be cold when you take a shower you can nevertheless enjoy showering in a spring water which you would have been buying expensively in a bottled form.
6. Animals - this place is animal friendly as we strive to harmonise with nature. You might see horses, goats, water buffalo, and chickens on the ground while a pet cat and dogs roam freely in and out of the house and will greet you and accompany you in your stay.
7. Transport is not included in the room or house rent. The caretaker can provide you a rented motorcyle or a multicab (a type of an open air minivan) to pick you up from the airport, to go around the island and to take you to the airport.
8. The house is designed to be open so as not to obstruct the view of the nature around it. It is not child or baby friendly and as such, if you bring children, they will need constant attention.
9. Rain - the whole island, the house and the place where it is situated is in a rainforest and expect that when it rains, it pours as in every rainforests (expect mud, soil and to get very wet).
