Thoughtfully designed modern luxury two-storey condo situated mere steps from the subway. Features a private balcony w/ skyline view, tons of privacy, a large & modern bedroom & private bathroom. Truly a very large apartment for NYC standards.

Situated in Williamsburg, one of NYC's best & most desirable & fun neighborhoods. Plus, lots of fun perks: Japanese bidet toilet, tons of natural light but remote-control blinds when you want darkness, central A/C and heat, and an actual pinball machine!

Hi, I'm Seth. I'm here to make sure you have the best stay in New York possible. Looking to make this trip special? Let me know and I can help you get the most out of the hidden NYC that most tourists don't see.

My place is situated in Williamsburg (undoubtedly the city's most fun and one of its most desirable neighborhoods) and is conveniently located just steps to the L line of the subway (it seriously couldn't be closer). It's a two-storey duplex, with tons of space and privacy. I stay upstairs in what is basically a separate apartment, ensuring tons of privacy. It really is huge by NYC standards and, as my reviews say, it is actually even bigger than the pictures seem to suggest.

The place includes:
-Your own bathroom, complete with a Japanese bidet toilet and rainfall shower.
-A spacious bedroom with floor-to-ceiling windows and a private balcony with a killer view of Manhattan.
-Remote-controlled automatic blinds that ensure blackout darkness while you sleep on a super-comfy queen-sized foam/latex mattress.
-A Netflix and cable-equipped plasma TV in your room, with HBO and all the other premium channels (in case you want to catch up on Game of Thrones or the like)
-More privacy than any other "Private room" listing on this whole site (it's on a completely separate floor from where I sleep so I can totally stay out of your hair)
-A pinball machine!
-Super-fast Wi-Fi Internet

-FREE LAUNDRY with my washer/dryer (note: only if you are staying more than six days)
-Three outdoor terraces/balconies, including one that is a part of the room for rent (with an incredible view of Manhattan).
-Deep Jacuzzi-style tub and rain shower.
-Ridiculous amounts of natural light throughout.
-Apartment is furnished throughout with designer and custom-made furniture.
-Lots of original art throughout, most of which comes from myself and local artist friends.
-I can also usually provide hotel-size shampoo and conditioner bottles.
-Towels and linens are definitely included (just because some people ask)
-My home is a unique apartment that has been used in numerous photo and film shoots, and has been featured on numerous Web sites and television programs. It makes me happy to share it, and I hope you can enjoy it.

The place is less than one block from the L train (you don't even need to cross the street to get to it), which runs 24 hours a day and takes about 7 minutes to zoom you to the East Village and 10 minutes to Union Square. It is also a short walk to the countless bars, restaurants, grocery stores, etc... that make up Williamsburg (it's the youngest and most fun 'hood in the city!). Williamsburg is a diverse neighborhood that still has some graffiti and grit. It is very safe, but if you're looking for a sanitized touristy area, it may not be for you.

Q: Is it near the subway?
A: You won't find a home closer to the subway—literally around the corner. You don't even need to cross the street to get to it.

Q: Do you have an elevator?
A: Nope. But I am happy to help you carry luggage up the stairs if I'm around. This is what we call a New York gym and I promise it's not a big deal.

Q: Is the neighborhood safe?
A: Very much so. As is the subway, 24 hours a day.

Q: Do I need to bring towels, a hair dryer, or linens?
A: Nope! I provide all these things. Same with hotel-size toiletries (unless I happen to be out, which is rare).

Q: When can I check in or check out?
A: I will try to accommodate your desired check-in or check-out, no matter what time it is. Note that early check ins are not always possible if I have a guest leaving that morning, as I need time to have the room professionally cleaned for you. However, I can usually allow you to drop off luggage, and the room will usually be ready by or 1 or 2pm at the very latest. If you have a late flight, you are welcome to leave your luggage until at least the late afternoon. Late check-ins, even ones at 2am, are no problem at all (I promise you won't be bothering me).

Q: Will I have a key? Can I come and go as I please?
A: Yes and yes. And I wouldn't trust any Airbnb listing with which this isn't the case.

Q: Is the place professionally cleaned between guests?
A: Yes, and I take pride in providing a clean home for guests.

Q: I see I'm renting a "Private Room". How much privacy do I have?
A: An insane amount. I sleep on a separate floor with a separate bathroom and living area. You won't keep me awake, nor will you ever need to tip-toe around late at night. Basically: You have all the privacy of a private apartment, but a great guide handy.

Q: Can my friend sleep on the sofa?
A: I have a two-guest-per-booking maximum, and do not allow guests to sleep in the living room. In other words: If you aren't comfortable sharing a bed with your traveling partner, this place probably isn't for you.

Q: Do I have a private bathroom?
A: 99% yes. The large bathroom adjacent to your bedroom is yours to take over/leave your stuff in/etc. However, as it is the only bathroom on the first floor, I sometimes use it. But it's basically yours, and will feel like a private bathroom.

Q: What's my total booking price?
A: I honestly have no idea. With fees included, Airbnb only shows the guest how much they pay. This figure should be present after you enter your dates. Note that, pricing varies on a daily basis, and Airbnb actually uses some crazy algorithm to adjust it automatically, so I don't actually control this.

Q: The pictures look pretty cool. Is that how the place really looks?
A: Yes. In fact, the space is actually quite a bit larger than can be seen in the photos. It is a very, very large apartment by New York standards, and there is plenty of room to stretch out and relax.

Q: Is the bed comfortable?
A: Very. Some guests say it's the best they've ever slept on!
One last thing: I really, really appreciate that you followed directions and read the whole thing. Please put the phrase "Bonus points are fun!" at the top of your message so I know you did so as such bookings tend to go so much smoother! And thanks for hanging in there!

Guest access

Guests have access to an enormous and beautiful apartment in a great part of town, steps from the subway. Your private room has a private balcony, and is on a completely separate floor from where I sleep (meaning tons of privacy). You have your own bathroom, access to the kitchen, living room, and pretty much whatever else you like. You can come and go as you please, 24 hours a day, and you won't disturb me. It will feel almost like a private apartment. I also offer free laundry drop-off service for guests staying at least six nights.

Interaction with guests

That's up to you! If you'd rather I didn't exist, I understand. If you want to grab a beer and talk about your trip and getting the most out of NYC, I'm happy to (assuming I'm not slammed with work)! There are also occasions when I have to travel at the last minute. So if I have to skip town for work, I apologize, and hope you enjoy the private apartment!

Other things to note

Please have a great time! And even though the area is lively and a lot of fun, the apartment itself is VERY quiet, in case that's a concern. Oh, and while it's a walk-up, I'm happy to help with luggage if I'm home.

Super handy location to the subway, it's only two minutes away. From there you're in the city within a few stops and also not far from the hustle and bustle of Bedford Avenue. I felt safe, as a solo traveller this trip, walking to the apartment from the subway after midnight. Seth & Elsa were friendly and helpful hosts, offering suggestions for shopping and sightseeing. The apartment and facilities were clean and tidy. The bed was super comfy, wish I could pack that in my suitcase ha ha. I would highly recommend this place to stay, I would definitely stay again.

We had a great stay at Seth's place and highly recommend it. The listing is accurate - spacious apartment with everything you might need. 2 mins from L train so easy subway ride to union square and about 15 min walk to Bedford Ave. Seth has clearly been hosting for a while and has it down to a tee - the instructions and guidebooks are well thought out and make for a straightforward check in and check out. He has loads of suggestions for things to do, good restaurants and bars in the vicinity - especially perfect if you've already done the main NYC attractions. Seth and Elsa were accessible and made sure everything was going well and happy to answer questions and give good suggestions. Thank you!

Seth's perfect privacy getaway come just as promised. Beautiful no matter time time of day, dimmers adorn lights switches helping to set very relaxing moods. The terrance and deck are prefect for catching some sun or nap if the softness from the bed doesn't suck you in and threaten to never let you go. I could go on and on about how great Seth's home was but you'll only truly know once you stop by.

The host has detailed instructions for check in and a notebook full great suggestions for local and non-local places to explore. The room and bathroom were very clean. As we were out early and back late we never met the host. We wish we had in order to thank him in person! Highly recommend.

I had a great experience staying here. The apartment is right around the corner from the subway station, making it very easy to get around Brooklyn and into Manhattan. The bedroom was very comfortable and private; I never met the host and really felt like I had the place to myself. Seth's notes and recommendations were a really nice touch. 10/10!

Seth was an excellent if not a perfect host. The communication was fast and easy. His tips (including his guidebooks) on anything related to NY were so helpful that basically all you had to do was to follow what Seth advised. The location is just perfect: a subway station is literally around the corner and you can get to any location of NY, the neighborhood is quiet and safe. The room is neat and the bed is comfortable. A private bathroom with all amenities you might need. Perfect for a sole traveler and a couple.
