Just an hour from San Francisco is the perfect location for a relaxing getaway. Meandering into the small village of Rio Nido under the tall redwoods is a delight as you enter this Cabin in the Trees. Features two bedrooms one bath and large living room for entertaining.
We had a great time staying here and exploring the area. The pictures do a good job showing the overall space and it has a nice cozy feel. Theo was responsive and nice. A couple things to note; there isn't a microwave or toaster oven, but there is a stove and full oven. Also, parking was a bit tricky with a low clearance vehicle. It ended up being fine, but took some practice backing up into the space.
We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Tree House! Though a little bit creaky, it was just what we needed to escape the city life for a while and live in the woods. I'd call it luxury camping.
We spent most of our time in the kitchen sharing meals, and it had everything you need to cook up a feast. My girlfriend loved all the unique chachkies and decorations, while I personally enjoyed waking up to the sun shining through the redwoods in the room with wrap around windows. The mornings were a little cold but the gas fireplace easily solved this issue.
Theo was a great host who was quite communicative and helped us out with all of our questions and needs both before and during our stay.
We had a great time and loved that it really felt like a tree house. It was a charming cabin in a beautiful location. The town is fun and funky and our favorite part was a long, beautiful loop hike among the redwoods in Armstrong State Park (only 10 minutes away). We'd love to come back and spend more time to bike in the nearby wine country.
The house isn't easy to find the first time. Our GPS could't find the right street. My recommendation is to get very specific driving directions.
Cabin was as expected from the pictures - surrounded by redwoods, and very cosy inside. Hosts were lovely and welcomed us on arrival.
Our stay at the treehouse was exactly what we were looking for and needed for our Sonoma weekend trip. The fireplace was on when we arrived and it was toasty. I spent my weekend with my significant other and another couple. I felt that both rooms had enough privacy.
There was though a small hiccup during our stay when a branch or pine cone fell from one of the tree nearby (this is expected since it is after all a tree house) and broke one of the sky lights in the bedrooms. Thankfully it happened while we were out and about during the day so no one was hurt. We never met, but Theo was professional and very responsive. He had someone come to fix it within less than an hour.
I highly recommend staying here, if you are looking to do some rest and relaxation!
I hesitate to lavish compliments on this property for fear that I will mot be able to enjoy it again. Theo was punctual, polite and unintrusive.....he had the fireplace an music going when we arrived. The property is the perfect weekend get away from the noise of the city! Tucked up on the side of a hill, the home is tastefully decorated, comfortable and peaceful. We felt at home from the moment we walked in.....can't wait to spend more nights there in the future!
Well, it's only been a few hours and we're already planning another stay here. Great spot.
