Quito Apartment with wifi internet

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Camino de Orellana, Quito DC, Pichincha, Ecuador

A beautiful apartment in a great location with fabulous views overlooking the historic village of Guapulo.

The Space

On a clear day you can see the massive volcano Cayambe in the distance, and at nights you see Quito's oldest church, Sanctuaria de Guapulo illuminated below. You will also see an amazing variety of birds ranging from the ever active humming birds to vultures soaring on thermals.

The apartment is fully furnished and should have most things you need for a comfortable stay. It has one bedroom with double bed, living room with bed-settee and a well equipped kitchen with breakfast bar facing the living room. The bedroom has an en-suite shower room and there is a further toilet and laundry room.

Features include:
• Security guard
• Weekly maid.
• Telephone for calls to local numbers (you can receive incoming international calls).
• Wifi internet -bring your own laptop.
• Cable TV in bedroom.
• Good selection of books.

This is our own personal apartment, which we use for occasional visits to Quito and we endeavour to keep it in top condition. It is situated in a quiet part of the city away from the noise and pollution of the colonial centre, but within easy reach of both the old city and new parts of Quito including the Mariscal.

Just 100m up the road you will find the beautiful courtyard cafe, Warmi, and at the top of the hill, the upmarket shops and cafes of Av Gonzales Suarez. Hotel Quito offers top notch meals from its penthouse restaurant, or take a swim at its outdoor pool. There are some great restaurants in Avenida Isabel La Católica.

Alternatively take a walk down to the village of Guapulo. On the way you pass the corner shop after 100m, selling croissants and daily provisions, and a little further there is the gift shop, Rayuela, selling beautiful arts and crafts.

Provisions can be bought from the well stocked Supermaxi -a short taxi ride away in La Floresta.

The Neighborhood

Take a walk down the hill to the village of Guapulo -home to artists. On the first bend is the corner shop, selling croissants and daily provisions. A little further down you can find the gift shop, Rayuela, selling beautiful arts and crafts, followed by a number of bars and cafes.

  • As others have said, the view is amazing from the apartment.
    Changing all the time.
We were presented with a welcoming basket of food by Ruthy and her son Jorge.
Chris made us feel even more welcome with his call from England.
He answered all emails immediately and offered tips of points of interest.
We would definitely rent this apartment again and highly recommend it if you want quiet evenings away from the noise of the big city.

  • Nice apartment with an incredible view. About a 15 minute taxi ride to the Old Town area. Chris was very easy to stay in contact with, and incredibly helpful. I'd definitely recommend this apartment to anyone planning on visiting Quito.

  • Most of the other positive reviews tell the story accurately: this really is a very comfortable and convenient apartment with a truly killer view.
Unlike many other rentals, it does not have an impersonal, stripped-down feeling. It is loaded with unexpected extras. And the decorations are obviously chosen with care and do not just fill wall space. Highly recommended.

  • You can truly find peace and serenity in this apartment. It's a quiet get-away from busy Quito and very secure. Of course, the spectacular view never ceased to amaze. I especially liked getting up in the morning and seeing the sun come in through the window. Everything shone.
I loved living there and would definitely to stay again...

  • The apartment is a very nice space for a month. The view from the bedroom and living area is exceptional. When it is clear and sunny you can see the east side of the Andes and the valley that stretches to the new airport. When it is cloudy there are still the hummingbirds to watch, one with a very long tail. The building is also quiet and the guards very helpful with heavy packages etc.

An unexpected and welcome gift was the help we received from the apartment manager..Jorge. He was always willing to answer questions, quickly address and resolve any issues and, because he works in the tour business, he was able to rapidly help us do some things we were unable to set up before we left.

There is a small restaurant...Wami... just around the corner (uphill all the way) that serves an excellent breakfast and lunch and you are only 1/2/ kilometer from a cash machine and 2 or 3 other great restaurants.

All in all a good stay. Thanks to Chris and Jorge.

  • Chris was very helpful prior to check-in, promptly answering any questions we had, in addition to providing an online guide to the apartment and Quito, plus a link to their very informative website all about Quito.

Check-in was slightly difficult as our taxi driver didn't know where to go (we'd recommend writing down all Chris' instructions on how to get to the apartment, particularly the note about its proximity to Hotel Quito). We also didn't realise we hadn't hit the send button on the email stating our arrival time. However Jorge, Chris's family contact in Quito who dealt with our check-in/check-out was very accommodating in providing the keys and stopping by the apartment on a couple of occasions; firstly to provide a lovely welcome pack, and secondly to drop of a handy meal delivery catalogue - perfect when travelling with a baby!

The apartment itself is like a home away from home. A fully stocked kitchen with all the utensils we needed, plus some handy pantry items. The bookshelf is packed with reading books and helpful travel guides for Ecuador. A separate 2nd toilet, spacious wardrobes in the bedroom and a decent sized laundry all give the apartment a very roomy feel. And the view is amazing!! Particularly as the sun rises in the valley.

The store at the end of the street has all the basics we needed, plus a good range of fresh produce. We also loved visiting (and definitely recommend) Warmi, the cafe just a short walk up the hill for brunch on the weekend. Great value, delicious fresh food for $5 set in a beautiful courtyard!

  • As promised I stayed again at Chris apartment in Guapulo.
It's cozy, with superb views over the valley, nicely furnished, convenient parking place, close to everything. Recommended!

I am British with an Ecuadorean wife -we live in Bristol in the UK but have been travelling to Quito for 25 years. In 2005 we bought a small apartment in Quito that we rent out on a short term basis. We have hosted many visitors over the last eight years and enjoy helping visitors to discover Ecuador. We try to get to stay in Quito at least once a year, and enjoy our little refuge in the mountains with its views. I am an architect, with my own practice in the UK. Susana is a doctor. Our son James is doing a PhD in evolutionary biology in the University of Southern California, and our daughter Maria is an actress working in London.
