Awesome time at Oceano. The house, pool house and pool are awesome. Mere steps to the beach is great as well. Ronald and Bernie, caretakers, are exceptional people; very kind and accommodating.

Our family of 10 had an amazing time at Oceana! Karin and Rupi communicate well, answering every question and offering lots of helpful information. The home is perfect for relaxing, swimming in the amazing pool, and enjoying a perfect sandy bottom ocean swim. The house has a great kitchen and veranda where we all gathered comfortably. The caretakers, Bernie and Ronald are easy to be around and incredibly helpful. This house was the favorite part of our stay in Costa Rica!

We visited Costa Rica with a very large group of 14 so this house was perfect for us! Each couple/family had their own space and bathroom which we loved! The pictures on the ad don't do this house justice. It had much larger common areas than I was expecting so that was a really nice surprise! I did not meet the owners of the house but have easily communicated with them via AirBnB almost an entire year before we made the trip down. They are very friendly and quick to respond no matter how silly the questions! We were especially appreciative of the caretakers on the property. They are WONDERFUL and kind people. They helped us with everything! Bernie is an amazing cook!!!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Beach House. We had 11 people and there was plenty of room to spread out. The back patio and the pool was our favorite hang-out spot as it could get warm inside the house during the day. The location was centrally located to many good tourist spots. About an 1.5 hours to MontaVerde, 1.5 hours to Jaco, 2.5 hours to Manuel Antonio, 10 minutes to PuntaArenas, 1 hour to San Jose. There was a big grocery store about 2 miles away. Traveling by car in Costa Rica was not hard. We were able to park our two rental cars inside the private gate at the house, which was really nice and safe. The beach at the house is semi-private and excluded but we didn't spend much time there and went to beaches in other areas. The beaches in the area are volcanic (black) beaches. The housekeepers are extremely friendly and helpful. Bernie did the cooking for us on some days and made sure we had what we needed. The wi-fi didn't work the first day but was quickly fixed by the owner. The showers in some of the rooms did not have hot or warm water but most worked just fine. I would recommend staying here if you have a large group of people and plan to explore different parts of beautiful Costa Rica.

I was with a group of 11 that stayed at The Oceano house for 7 days at the beginning of February. The owner Rupi was there to meet us after waiting a few hours as our plane was late and it was very busy at the airport. He explained the ins and outs of the house and things to do. The house is older but in good working condition and centrally located to do and see attractions. It is a fantastic pool and we spent most of the time in it or on the patio. We used 6 of the 7 bedrooms and each had its own bathroom and air conditioner. One complaint about hard mattress but I think everyone slept well. The wifi does not reach all the way out to the cabinas but works fine in the main house and at the pool. The greatest thing about the house are the caretakers Bernie and Ronald who go above and beyond to make your stay carefree. Bernie made us breakfast most days and we had her make a fantastic dinner one night. Being late the first day we had nothing to eat and Ronald rode his bike to get us rotisserie chickens at a not too close grocery store. There was always a huge pot of great coffee ready by 7AM every morning on the patio. They did so much for us. Last but not least is Macha the dog, who is the owner Karins pet. A sweet and easygoing friend. We rode the bus into the busy city of Puntaranes the first morning (about 20 minutes) and explored and went to the grocery store. It was very hot but an experience in itself. You can walk about a block to the hospital and eat at a half dozen sodas and buy fresh fruit. . We also went to Tortuga Island, the canopy zipline, the Monte Verde rainforest and Jaco beach. We used Chicos tours and I highly recommend him for your transportation. He did so much extra for us such as cooler of beer and water in van, side trips to feed monkeys and see the sunset from beautiful spot. (URL HIDDEN)

We loved our stay here. We were a group of 13 people and this place was amazing. The way you see it in pictures is the way this place is. The caretakers of the house, Bernie and Ronald were amazing. They were super accommodating and guided us everywhere. Bernie is an amazing cook. She was able to cook for us for a few days during our stay. The check in process was seamless. Location is great, a quick drive to the market, town, and Jaco. Would definitely recommend this place. Thanks Karin and Rupi for a great stay.

Great property which made for an incredible first visit to Costa Rica! We were a group of 10 adults from Canada vacationing in Costa Rica for one week in January. This house turned out to be just perfect for us. It is located about 1 hour 15 minutes from San Jose airport and about 50 minutes from Jaco Beach. The property is in a quiet and clean neighborhood, and has a gated entrance. We did not have to question our security during our stay. There are seven bedrooms, each with a bathroom and at least two beds; we felt very comfortable. Karin and Rupi are great hosts. They met with us when we first arrived to discuss housekeeping items and excursion suggestions. A cell phone is left for the use of the guests for local and long distance calls. They contacted us on the second night to check in with how things were going, and let us know to call them if we need anything. The pool is great and the ocean is only minutes away. There is a supermarket called Maxi Pali for groceries which is about a 5 minute drive from the house. At the end of the street, there is a tourism shop where we booked most of our excursions. Bernie and Ronald, the caretakers, are the most kind and helpful people. When asked in advance, Bernie would do laundry and have it back to us within the next day. Ronald cleans the pool every other morning, and would help with anything you ask. We arranged for them to cook for us on our last day, and they did not disappoint. The meals were delicious. Our group only left the house for excursion activities and to explore Puntarenas. Other than those times, we found ourselves staying in the house for most nights. We were very content and felt we had everything we needed: being in a tropical paradise while being comfortable at home.

We love to travel and also enjoy staying in homes rather than hotels. We love to grow tropical fruits at our beach house to share with our guests.
