Welcome to the Central Coast

House - Private room · Nipomo Ave, Baywood-Los Osos, CA 93402, United States

The Space

Private bedroom with one Queen size bed and a closet which you can use for your belongings. There's also a writing desk in the room. Private bathroom - just renovated. Our house is a 2 story 3 bedroom house. Only 2 people live in it. Our bedroom and bathroom are on the second floor to the side, so there's plenty of privacy.

This room cannot accommodate 3 adults. Please do not book if there are more than 2 in your party. Also, the 2 of you must be willing to share the bed.

You are welcome to use the kitchen (no meat, seafood, poultry allowed, but dairy, eggs OK). We'll share our cereal and tea with you. We are not coffee drinkers, so if you are, bring your own coffee. There's also a Starbucks and an awesome bakery within a walking distance from the house. While we don't mind you using the kitchen for a light breakfast (cereal, toast, eggs, tea/coffee) and light snacks, we do not allow real cooking. So, plan on having your real meals outside. We will be happy to give you restaurant suggestions.

We are 8 min from Morro Bay, 12 min from San Luis Obispo, 10 min from Montana De Oro. Close to supermarkets and local restaurants. The house was recently renovated. Your bathroom is brand new, so is almost everything around. We have a big yard.

We are about 40 min away from Hearst Castle.

We do not have a TV for our guests. We do not like TV.
We can give you WiFi access.
We provide towels, sheets, blankets.
There's an alarm clock in your room.

We can also give you plenty of suggestion for restaurants in the area. If you like hiking, we can even take you! If you like dancing, we can tell you where to go, as we like dancing and know the scoop. On the other hand if you feel like taking a dancing lesson, we can teach you (additional fee).

We are busy and work crazy hours, so you may or may not see much of us during your stay but we will provide you with everything you need to be comfortable and independent.

We have 4 chickens, all girls, no roosters. So we get fresh eggs and will share for breakfast, if we have enough. You can see them from one of your windows, the one that looks into the back yard. They are pets and love attention, giving us organic eggs in return.

Your other window looks out into the landscaped front yard and patio. We grow some veggies and herbs, depending on the season. You are welcome to those.

Our neighborhood is quiet and sleepy. It feels like you are out in the country...and you really are, as Los Osos, is not an incorporated town, and it's embedded in open natural space.

Basically, we want you to be as comfortable and have as much fun as you can while you are around!

We cannot accommodate your pets, so please do not bring them.

There's plenty of parking on the street in front of the house.

No more than 2 people. Please read the house rules before booking.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights during a road trip. The room and private bathroom were really nice and clean. Given that we were the only bedroom on the first floor, there was really a sense of privacy to the space. Valentina was nice enough to leave out tea/cereal for us in the mornings which added a nice touch.

  • We had a great overnight stay at Valentina's place. Although we did not get to meet her, communication upfront was easy and uncomplicated.
Upon arrival we met Jeff, who also seems relaxed and friendly. He showed us the room and gave us some recommendations for dinner.
The room is really nice and very quiet and everything was very clean.
In the morning we checked out the chickens and admired the nice garden around the house. We helped ourselves to some cerea, too. We would stay here again.

  • Place and room were clean and modern. Valentina and Jeff were very welcoming and provided us with great advice on where to eat.

  • The room was perfect for our single night stay. Very comfortable, clean and tasteful. The hosts are wonderful people and made us feel quite welcome.

  • It's a great experience! We had a good time here.

  • We have been traveling through CA and made a last minute booking with Valentina. We had quite a drive on highway 1 and it got pretty late when we arrived (it was a little bit tricky to find it as house number is not visible right away). Anyhow Valentina and Jeff have been super nice and made us feel like at home (even though we stayed only one night). Next to have Jeff has offered him home made soup which was amazing! :) Thank you guys!

  • Great place to stay if you want to be somewhat off the beaten track. About a 15 minute drive off the 101, convenient to SLO and Morrow Bay. Perfect for a couple who want a quiet place to go back to and sleep. Valentina was a great host - gives you the privacy you want, but will share some tips too. Immaculate room and bathroom.

  • We had a pleasant stay at Valentina and Jeff's. We didn't get to see them when we arrived but we were provided very clear instructions. We met briefly before our departure. While Valentina is quite direct but she is definitely a warm person, we love that as we are too! The room was a good size for two people and we had a comfortable sleep. Thank you for hosting us!!!

  • Valentina and Jeff's place is clean, convenient, and comfortable, as advertised. My wife and I had a nice long weekend there, plenty of things to do around Los Osos. Now we have used airbnb more than 10 times in California and so after comparing our stay with Valentina and Jeff to our earlier experiences, we must admit that, unfortunately, they are not airbnb material. They seem to mean well, but they don't make you feel very welcomed in the house. Overall, if you are planning to stay for more than a night in the area, we would not recommend this place.

    Response from Valentina:

Ni Nikos. Given that our first contact with you after your arrival was the morning after through a message in which you asked us to disassemble the bed, and having to store the memory foam mattress in the living room for the duration of your stay, i think we did pretty well overall. In the future, may i suggest that if you have a problem with your back, that you may want to contact your hosts BEFORE you book and definitely before you arrive with any concerns about the bed. If you guys had read the reviews from the other 100+people who speak of the "comfortable", "soft" and "cozy" bed, you may have figured out that this is not the best place for you to stay. It would have saved all of us a lot of trouble. As for our hospitality - well, we work, as it is said in the description. This means we are not home a lot to entertain anyone. When we are home, we chat with people. We've even taken people out to dinner. But usually they are people who don't expect us to redo the bedroom on demand and are very nice to us too. Good luck to you.

  • A very nice place and a kind reception by friendly and attentive hosts!

About
I live in Los Osos, CA. I own a yoga studio in Morro Bay, CA since 2001. I like to travel within the US and abroad, as long as i am below the snow line. I love dancing (mostly the tango),my karate classes, the outdoors and finding good food and fun restaurants wherever i visit. I am glad that airbnb offers such a neat way to travel!
