About This Listing
A private room with a private bathroom in a clean a quiet home.
Private bedroom with one Queen size bed and a closet which you can use for your belongings. There's also a writing desk in the room. Private bathroom - just renovated. Our house is a 2 story 3 bedroom house. Only 2 people live in it. Our bedroom and bathroom are on the second floor to the side, so there's plenty of privacy.
This room cannot accommodate 3 adults. Please do not book if there are more than 2 in your party. Also, the 2 of you must be willing to share the bed.
You are welcome to use the kitchen (no meat, seafood, poultry allowed, but dairy, eggs OK). We'll share our cereal and tea with you. We are not coffee drinkers, so if you are, bring your own coffee. There's also a Starbucks and an awesome bakery within a walking distance from the house. While we don't mind you using the kitchen for a light breakfast (cereal, toast, eggs, tea), we do not allow real cooking. So, plan on having your real meals outside. We will be happy to give you restaurant suggestions and there is a binder in your room with a list of many of the local restaurants with reviews on each one.
We are 8 min from Morro Bay, 12 min from San Luis Obispo, 10 min from Montana De Oro. Close to supermarkets and local restaurants. The house was recently renovated. Your bathroom is brand new, so is almost everything around. We have a big yard.
We are about 40 min away from Hearst Castle.
We do not have a TV for our guests. We do not like TV.
We can give you WiFi access.
We provide towels, sheets, blankets.
There's an alarm clock in your room.
We are busy and work crazy hours, so you may or may not see much of us during your stay but we will provide you with everything you need to be comfortable and independent.
We have 4 chickens, all girls, no roosters. So we get fresh eggs and sometimes share them with guests for breakfast. You can see them from one of your windows, the one that looks into the back yard. They are pets and love attention, giving us organic eggs in return.
Your other window looks out into the landscaped front yard and patio. We grow some veggies and herbs, depending on the season. You are welcome to those.
Our neighborhood is quiet and sleepy. It feels like you are out in the country...and you really are, as Los Osos, is not an incorporated town, and it's embedded in open natural space.
Basically, we want you to be as comfortable and have as much fun as you can while you are around!
We cannot accommodate your pets, so please do not bring them.
There's plenty of parking on the street in front of the house.
Check in is 5 pm or later. Check out is 10:00 am or earlier.
This is a smoke free environment.
No more than 2 people. Please read the house rules before booking.
Interaction with Guests
Sometimes we are around and we interact with the guests more. Often we are gone, so minimal interaction. However, we leave instructions and make sure everyone has what they need to be comfortable.
You need a car. No easy buds or train access.
No pets. No smoking of any kind. No arrivals after 10 pm. We work funky hours during the day, so we ask that you call us when you are about an hour or so to your arrival time, or let us know ahead of time when your are planning on arriving. If you are visiting friends in the area, your friends CANNOT hang out with you all day long around the house :) Please, do not plan on cooking your main meals in our home. You will have access to the kitchen for light breakfast, tea, snacks, but no cooking. Also, consider our home a place to sleep, not a place to hang out all day. We do not allow stays more than 5 days and we do not change your sheets or clean your bathroom if you are staying the entire 5 days. You are welcome to do it yourself. You can park on the street under the tree by the fence. Sometimes early arrival is OK, but please ask and we will let you know if it is possible. This is a smoke free environment!
Living Room. We are dancers....on the account of which, there's lots of dancing space for practice :)
Valentina's home was perfect for a night's rest. We actually returned to stay for another night on our return trip down the Pacific Coast Highway from San Francisco to LA. The room and toilet were very clean and comfortable. We slept so well on the bed, and her four friendly chickens were fun to watch from our window. :)
Upon arrival, we were greated warmly by Valentina. We were shown the room, private shower area, Internet password, etc. Very knowledgeable about the area activities, restaurants, etc. What a great experience!
The room and the private bathroom were clean. However, the location of the house is around 20 minutes of San Luis Obispo and all the restaurants in Los Osos close at 8h-9hPM, so there's not much to do around the house. We saw Valentina at our arrival, but we have not talked with her a lot. If you are looking for a stop place to sleep, this can be a good place.
We did not see the hosts much at all as they were very busy but they took time to recommend restaurants and had a local guide binder in the room. Judging from their home they seem like really interesting, down to earth people. The bed was super comfortable and they had eggs and hot or cold cereal for breakfast with an assortment of teas/coffee. It was a great stay.
Stopped here on out pacific coast highway roadtrip. Jeff and Valentina (who we never met) were awesome hosts and their bedroom was very private and comfortable. Way better value then some weird motel we could have stayed at for the same price.
Valentina's place was nicely decorated in a quiet neighborhood in Los Osos. The room was as described clean with a comfortable bed. Me and my girlfriend were visiting the area for a wedding party. Check-in was 5pm, but the host nicely was able to accommodate us to to check-in by 4pm. We were only briefly there to sleep after the wedding party, but would stay longer next time.
About the Host, Valentina
I live in Los Osos, CA. I like to travel within the US and abroad, as long as i am below the snow line. I love dancing (mostly the tango),my karate classes, the outdoors and finding good food and fun restaurants wherever i visit. I am glad that airbnb offers such a neat way to travel!
