Interaction with Guests
We both enjoy spending time with guests but respect peoples' need for quiet and privacy.
The neighbourhood is friendly and quiet but with many interesting things for tourists to do. There are speciality shops and boutiques, cafes and restaurants, great walking trails, wineries nearby, and beautiful public gardens to wander in and explore.
Public transport does exist in the form of a train from Melbourne to Belgrave (end of the line) which is a 15 minute drive from our place. Buses do run from Belgrave to us and around the area but they are not frequent. We strongly recommend that anyone staying here come by car. We have off-street parking available. (If using GPS to find us it is best to avoid all gravel roads until you reach ours).
Other Things to Note
It is greatly appreciated if guests let us know their expected time of arrival. We are not always home and we prefer to be here to meet guests rather than leave a key for access.

I would like to thank both Graeme and Sheila for their hospitality. You house is truly unique and the views are breathtaking. My son particularly enjoyed roaming your garden upon arrival and trying to feed the parrots. The bed was very comfortable and the spa just what I needed. Thank you once again for opening up your home to us.
Graeme and Sheila were perfect hosts and their house is stunning and set amongst the most beautiful forest setting. The room was a very good size and was warm and comfortable, breakfast was simple but sufficient and their pets made us feel at home! Many thanks
Staying at Graeme's place was a great experience.
We had to change the date of our travel and Graeme was very friendly and accepted the request almost instantly.
Graeme coordinate with us before our trip and he was at home when we got there.
The place is really in heaven. It was such a relaxing place and we really enjoyed staying there.
Graeme is a very easy going person and we are looking forward to go back there.
We had a lovely stay with Graeme and Sheila. Our room was very comfortable with all we needed and we had a lovely chat with Graeme in the morning. We would definitely stay here again. The house has a beautiful outlook and we saw rosellas and a cockatoo feeding at breakfast time on the deck.
I can't find the words to describe how beautiful and tranquil Graeme and Sheila's place is!! A hidden gem in the Dandenong Ranges and I am really glad we booked to stay there for 2 nights. We were greeted by Graeme as Sheila was away and he is a great host. He made us feel comfortable and showed us around the place. We loved the beautiful view and I managed to wonder around their huge gorgeous garden. I was up early both days to witness the sunrise and both morning was spectacular despite having a cloudy start. Ára our daughter enjoyed the stay the most as she was playing with the cats as we don't have any at home. Thank you again Graeme for making our stay a pleasant one. It was ashamed we missed Sheila but who knows, we might be back again in the future if we travel to Victoria again.
Sheila's and Graeme's hospitality was first class. From the moment we arrived, nothing was too much trouble. We certainly felt like we were a priority and our comfort and general needs was well catered for.
As other reviews have stated, Graeme and Sheila's property is spectacularly beautiful in terms of location and views. The room is comfortable and G & S were unobtrusive hosts. The use of the massage chair was especially welcome after 6 weeks of climbing and trekking in NZ!
The only thing that may discourage us from returning is the fact that the room is at the bottom of 2 flights of stairs - we were unaware of this fact at the time of booking, but we have been assured that this will be made more obvious in the description.
I would like to stress that this was only a problem for *ahem* more mature (and travel-weary) folks like oursleves - for those of you who have no problem with this, we thoroughly recommend a stay in this beautiful part of the world!

Sheila and I are semi retired and love to share our beautiful surroundings and home with travellers. Sheila is originally form England and Graeme is Australian. We are both well-travelled and have appreciated and enjoyed the hospitality and friendliness of people we have met when away from home.
We love to meet people form all parts of the world, and welcome you here to either be part of our family for a while (us two and a few friendly poodles and bengal cats) or to just have a quiet time by yourself.
