About this listing
I have two letting rooms and this is for Room 2 in the heart of the home. This is my smaller bedroom with a double bed and ensuite with shower and includes fluffy towels. The room is situated on the first floor. I have tried to retain the character of a old croft house in the home and managed to weave some of my grandmother antiques into the rooms. As the house is a traditional croft house The room has combed roof. Each room has a hospitality tray, with real coffee and (website hidden), books and maps, hot water bottles, and free wifi. I serve breakfast in our breakfast room from 8am - 8.45am. With views over the Trotternish Ridge. The choices for breakfast are a full cooked Scottish breakfast, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, a omelette or a continental platter.
Rooms have ensuite, TV, generous hospitality tray with real coffee, and a large selection of walking books and maps, Free Wi-Fi. Breakfast is served in our breakfast room with choice of cooked or continental with views over the Trotternish Ridge. Sorry we don't have a guest lounge.
We are always here and happy to help you get the most of your holiday on the beautiful island. We have lived in Skye all our lives and very passionate about our beautiful island!

This was truly one of the best Air BnB experiences I have had. The cottage house was absolutely beautiful, and completely spotless. The bedroom was quaint and cosy, with a very comfortable bed. Joanna worked tirelessly to ensure that I had a very pleasant experience, going above and beyond the normal call of a host. She was extremely friendly, and made me feel totally at home. The home cooked breakfast with berries was fabulous. I cannot recommend this place enough - I will certainly be back!
Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting - room with a view on the Quiraing! Nice room, charmingly decorated with lots of antique, and with a very good bed! Warm welcome, and a very good and abundant breakfast. A place on Skye to recommend!
I loved this place. The room was a decent size with a good bathroom. It was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Joanna was very friendly and full of good information about the area. There were loads of books available about walks, history of Skye etc.
The house is very handy to the Quiraing (my favourite walk on Skye), in fact you can see it out the window. The area is pretty quiet in terms of eating, with only a couple of pretty low key options, but it's only about 20 minutes to Portree.
Super, excellent, brilliant - I can find more superlatives if requested! Joanna is a great host including her family. Very good talks and we received great tips for excursions and restaurants. The Interieur of the house is fantastic, we love it. The breakfast was delicicous and Joanna offered a wide range of cereals, fruits, porridge, eggs, traditional Scottish breakfast etc. We enjoyed our stay (3 nights) in Staffin and we will come back as soon as possible.
Amazing place to stay - Joanna made us feel extremely welcome and her place is in an awesome location - very easy starting point to explore skye! Breakfast was amazing and and the room/bathroom was spotless.
After getting lost in the winding hills of Skye, we ended up in probably the most comfortable bed that ever existed.
Joanna and her little family are awesome and so welcoming!! They have great style which makes the house super cozy.
The breakfast selection has choices for everyone. Its homemade and fresh. Beware the black pudding, not for the faint of heart.
Both Joanna and her husband have been in the area their whole lives, so heed any and all advice given. *Dunevegan Castle isn’t really worth it.
Its a quiet location where the wind roars and you can hear baby lambs talk as it is set in the most beautiful of places.
Can’t wait to return. Keep us updated on the hot tub.
Thank you for all that you had done for us, you truly went above and beyond
Joanna gave us a warm welcome. Her house is beautiful and she took great care of us!
Staffin is also great and a relaxed place!
So anytime again!

About the Host, Joanna
Hello I'm Joanna. I was born and grew up on the Isle of Skye and have been lucky enough to live here all my life. I married allan in 2003 and bought a old Croft house in 2002. We have done a full renovation and extention and managed to keep the character of a old house with a modern feel. My inspiration for a lot of my style came from my granny. It started with her old chain mirror which I have hanging in the breakfast room. I've manage to weave some of her antique furniture in most of my rooms.
We have two young children Lexy and Lachlann. You may hear and see them from time to time as they are always curious to see who is staying with us. We look forward to welcoming you into our home.
