You will be staying in the "Blue Room". This is downstairs next to the "Green Room". Those two rooms share the Mauve bathroom. This home is a quick 5 minute walk from the center of downtown. This historic neighborhood is peaceful, yet only a short walk to all the fun activities downtown. Fantastic restaurants nearby, the Pritchard Park drum circle, the US Cellular Center, and St. Lawrence Basilica are only three blocks away. We are a 5 minute drive from UNCA.. You won't need to move your car once you are settled in, unless you decide to go to the Biltmore Estate and Biltmore Village, 10 minutes away. Easy access to the Blue Ridge parkway, NC Arboretum, Folk Art Center and much more!
This calendar reflects the reservations for the "Blue Room". The Blue room is downstairs next to the "Green Room" and is available for instant book. It has one queen bed and shares the mauve bathroom with the Green room. The Green Room next door has a comfy queen bed and shares a bathroom with the Blue Room. You can book the Green room by visiting " Victorian Cottage Downtown Green Room". All rooms have room air conditioners, high speed wi-fi, access to outdoor hot tub (bring bathing suits!), fire pit, gas and charcoal grills. We have a "roll-away" bed for one extra guest. You may use the kitchen to cook if you wish, but I will provide teas, coffee and fresh pastries from my sister's bakery!. There are some amazing places to eat within a 5-minute walk.
Interaction with Guests
Now that we have received "SuperHost" status, we will do everything to keep that honor. I have a really easy-going manner and love to laugh and have fun! Lots of nice people moving through, but yet a very mellow place. You are free to come and go as you please and basically just feel at home. I will be happy to help you with whatever your needs are, and I have a supply of maps and brochures and suggestions to make the most of your visit. I do teach afternoon music lessons (flute/voice/ piano) Monday - Thursday.
I love the beautiful old historic homes in this Montford neighborhood. My house dates from circa 1912, termed a "Victorian cottage", and built by Richard Sharp Smith. Many of the homes in the neighborhood date from the 1880's. This Victorian neighborhood was the first suburb of Asheville. It is very quiet and friendly. Lots of beautiful walking opportunities around the neighborhood.
We are happy to do shuttles to and from airport and around town if needed for a small fee. The city bus stops near the house, but the house is so conveniently located that you will hardly need the public transportation.
Other Things to Note
Please park on the Elizabeth st side. Also, the day of your arrival, a general ETA is very much appreciated!
I have two small short-haired kitties, Sebastian and Sasha, real sweet and mellow. They stay outside most of the time and are never allowed in guest rooms for those who might be slightly allergic. I have had several guests stay who are allergic to cats and have had no adverse reactions.
LGBTQ and straight-friendly.
Hair dryer, iron and ironing board available upon request, outdoor hot tub, outdoor screen room, patio with pergola, outdoor fire pit, gas and charcoal grills, flower, herb and vegetable gardens.
Smoking outside only. No drugs, drinking ok if of age.
Jeff and Rita are very friendly and helpful. They live in a house which has a lot of carachter and you get a very warm welcome when you arrive. The centre of Nashville is only a short walk away. The craftbrewery scene is great! Walkingdistance to Green Man and Wicked Weed...Jeff is a guy who has experienced a lot in hos life. It's very interesting and educating to have a chat with him. You have acsess to a wellequipped and spacious kitchen. The two cats are very friendly and they like to get attention. We never got time to try the jacuzzi... maybe next time?

Absolutely wonderful. We felt very welcomed and the room/house was so so nice and comfortable.
We enjoyed our stay. Location was great. We could walk to Yoga, Rosetta's, Harris Teeter, or downtown.
Wonderful. Rita and Jeff are as good as you can get. The location is prefect for walking access to downtown and heading out in a car to areas near Asheville. We enjoyed our stay and would love to be there again.
Rita made us feel welcome by making sure we had everything we needed. She was a charming, kind and friendly hostess!
Jon and I had a great time. Jeff and Rita were very welcoming, giving us a wonderful tour upon our arrival. Their house was lovely, and the room was just as described. I really enjoyed sipping coffee on their wooded back pavilion. Breakfast treats were yummy!
The location was perfect and an easy walk to downtown. The neighborhood was quiet and lovely as well. Rooms were clean and well stocked with towels.
We would definitely come back.
Bed was comfortable. Location was excellent, within easy walking distance of prime shops, restaurants, etc. Lovely outdoor seating areas. Although the neighborhood is reputed to be reasonably safe, I was concerned that the door of the room could not be locked from the outside if one wished to leave valuables in the room.
