Room & private b with splendid view

Apartment - Private room · Via dell'Ariento, Florence, Tuscany 50123, Italy

The Space

Single room with a splendid view of the hills and the city monuments available in a large apartment located in the heart of Florence.

The room is simply furnished with a large single bed (bed linen included), chest of drawers, valet stand, clothes rack, shelves and a small table; it is not too big but very cozy and sunny.
Wi-fi Internet connection, selection of books, TV. No air conditioning.

Private bathroom, towels, hair dryer, shower & bath amenities.

Welcome drinks and bottle of mineral water.

The apartment is just a few hundred meters from the Cathedral and from the Congress Centre, the city's main shopping streets, monuments and museums. The airport is just 15 minutes away by taxi and the central railway station is 3 blocks away.

We are surrounded by the lively atmosphere of a daily market where you can buy souvenirs, clothes, handbags, wallets and leather articles. In fact San Lorenzo is the leather district, and browsing around the stalls under the Medici chapels you might find some leather bags and jackets at terrific prices!

If you like food take a break at the mercato centrale. The Central Market, built in 1874 by Milan's architect Giuseppe Megoni, is a huge iron and glass structure that resembles the Halles in Paris and his other famous construction, the Gallery of Milan. It is the largest and perhaps the most typical of his kind in Florence; not only is it possible to buy flowers, vegetables, fruit, meat, cheeses and all kinds of typical gastronomic products but you can also eat a delicious lunch in one of its inside small restaurants.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Cristina was an absolutely extraordinary host! She greeted me with a glass of wine on my arrival, took me to see some of the major sites in Florence for an entire afternoon, and invited me to the roof for wine and antipasti on my last night. She even woke up early on the day I left to ensure I made it to the bus on time! The apartment is extremely well located near the train station (Santa Maria Novella), near to the Fortezza (conference center), and a short walk to the Duomo, Medici Chapel, and other major landmarks. Light sleepers should be advised to bring earplugs as the prime location means there is loud street noise through the night (especially on weekends) and in the early morning (a market is right outside, and vendors begin setting up around 7 AM). Overall, the experience was spectacular -- I cannot recommend Cristina and her apartment highly enough!

    Response from Cristina:

    Thank you, Michael!

  • Cristina is a very pleasant and helpful host with an apartment well located in the very centre of Florence near everything you could need. The apartment was spacious and tidy with extra bed linen happily provided during the cooler months. The view from the room is also very good.

  • I stayed at Cristina's house for new year's vacation.
The room and bathroom are comfortable.
    The location is great:
    1) 5-10 minutes walk to the train station.
2)10 minutes walk to the DUOMO.

Cristina was very effective/kindly made suggest to local restaurants and every information I needed for exploring the Firenze.

The only thing have to note is as Cristina wrote in the house rules:
    - have to climb the stairs up to the 4th floor.
    - there is obviously some street noise in the morning.
But you will have the best location to explore Firenze.

  • Staying with Cristina comes highly recommended especially if like myself it's your first time visiting Firenze. She really made me feel comfortable in her home and in the neighborhood. She was so very kind to pick me up from the bus stop at the SMN station and to walk me over to her apartment 3 short blocks away. The apartment and the room I stayed in was very clean, functional and near all of the main attractions of this beautiful town. My bed itself was very comfortable, and as a 6 foot tall man, I fit in it just perfectly. Cristina made some excellent recommendations to local bars, restaurants, neighborhoods and markets that only a native could provide thus avoiding the many dreaded tourist traps. Her apartment also includes your own private bathroom down the hall which was very spacious and even elegant. The large bathtub made for a great way to relax after a full day of trekking around the town. Come stay with Cristina and make a wonderful new friend in a charming old city. Ciao my fellow Airbnb travelers

  • I had a great time in Florence and my stay at Cristina's place was perfect. Her apartment is spectacular. I loved the design layout of the apartment — fantastically spacious! Also very clean and orderly. The location is fantastic — so close to all the significant points of interest with a view of many of them right outside my room's window. I loved being in the middle of it all. Also, Cristina was very helpful in suggesting her favorite places that were great to see. She also extended her time to help me figure the next part of my journey from Florence to Siracusa, Sicily. I am thankful for my stay at her place. Thank you Cristina for your accommodations that made my stay in Florence a great visit.

Dreams of freedom and adventure were a vivid chapter of my childhood, and somehow still are. I love the horizon... so travelling became an activity in adult life. For several years I was on the road with jazz musicians. Being a "roadie" manager was a great and unique experience not only for the sake of it but also for finding about people: I had to learn to be patient and to make my groups feel comfortable and happy while away from home. This experience was extremely useful later when I settled down in Florence and started accompanying tourists visiting Tuscany. I think every single journey is worthwhile because we make it happens. We all might have different targets but as far as I know - whether you need a scheduled guide or whether you enjoy exploring places by yourself - everybody looks for a clean, quiet and friendly place for the night. That's why I like to make my guests feel at home after a long day sightseeing. It's relaxing time. It's home for me and home for everyone. Love jazz, literature, cinema, animals, nature, bicycle riding. Sorry, I don't like soccer !
