Stay in a newly renovated stone farm house built in 1888 on top of an ancient Roman road. Small cosy apartment off the beaten track, ideal for quiet retreats and getaways to focus on writing or creative projects. You will wake up to a breathtaking view of the wooded hills and overgrown farmland. Take long walks in nature or in the small village. Fresh fish available twice a week, 15 mins drive to the supermarkets and 7mins to a smaller grocery store.

The space
New fully furnished apartment on the edge of a small village. Lovely view of the landscape from all windows and a large elevated terrace with an umbrella for relaxing on sunny days. Beaches and many places of interest within 1 hours drive.

Walk in the garden towards the river and on the large terrace in front of your living space. Stairs up towards the apartment.
Private entrance and free from close neighbors, ideal for social distancing.

Apart from getting away from the city to be quiet, my Guidebook link reviews nearby restaurants offering famous local foods, Portuguese cultural attractions, historical architectural sites from the stone age to Roman to Gothic and Baroque, as well as hiking trails to secret waterfalls, walks and wild swimming (in summer only) within 1hrs drive in the surrounding countryside.

Visual artist, educator and project director continuing my adventure of developing an artist's residency, Ponte d' Arte, in central Portugal. Anybody is more than welcome for accommodation bookings. We specialise in hosting international contemporary artists as well as students for master classes and workshops during certain months. Up to date I have hosted artists from 26 countries. I relocated from South Africa 11 years ago and have Belgian and SA citizenship, but live in Portugal.
