*** Bed Bug Note ****

We do NOT have bed bugs and never have, because of our extensive prevention program. Make sure wherever you stay in Calgary has a thorough bed bug prevention program.

Certain areas of Calgary are experiencing a serious and increasing rise in the cases of bed bugs. In planning your visit to Calgary you would be wise to consider this. Alberta is the only inhabited place on the planet without rats. Alberta also does not have termites, fleas or cockroaches. But Calgary does have bed bugs.

It may come as a surprise but the incidence of bed bugs is not related to the affluence or the 'cleanliness' of a particular area. Rather is is related to the travel habits of the residents. Bed Bugs arrive in Calgary in the luggage and shoes of travellors. And Calgarians travel.

So, your chances of having a problem with bed bugs is highest at a hotel or motel and lowest in a community where the residents travel less.

In our home we go to extraordinary lengths to prevent bed bug infestation. It is very difficult to get rid of bed bugs so we are deeply committed to safe, non toxic methods of prevention. Before you rent any place enquire as to their bed bug prevention program.

  • This home was stunning. Immaculately clean and with the most relaxing and serene atmosphere I have genuinely ever experienced. I simply couldn't recommend it highly enough. The Robinsons were just fabulous hosts in every way. I could happily have moved in on a permanent basis!.. thank you both so much for making our trip unforgettable.

  • Keith, Yoshika, and Ella provided me with a a warm me to their beautiful upscale home. The accommodation was clean, conveniently located in a good neighbourhood,, and provided me quiet refuge. My hosts were quiet and kind and even offered me a lift to the Canada celebrations! I would stay again, in a heartbeat. Thanks

thank you for staying with us, Brian. wish we had more time to get to know each other. Regarding the temperature, there is a fan in the room but I neglected to show you on check-in. Best wishes in all your future endeavors.

  • Myself and three friends had a short one-night stay with Keith and Yoshiko in June 2014. As there were four of us, we spread out between the downstairs suite and this upstairs private room and bath, just to give us extra room. We had plenty of space in their warm and welcoming home! It was truly a pleasure staying here, our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer to get to know these lovely hosts and the city even better! As we arrived we were welcomed by our hosts and their sweet little dog, Ella. The fresh flowers throughout gave a perfect touch to the lovely art and architecture of the home. The home was beautiful, impeccably clean, cozy with comfortable beds, and nice hot showers! Specifically pertaining to the upstairs room: there was more than enough space for one person to stay, especially since there were two comfy beds and storage space. The access to a beautiful private bath was also perfect. The location of the home itself was close to everything, including delicious restaurants, and the airport, which was perfect for our needs. We went to one restaurant suggested by our hosts (since we were only there for one evening), and it was superb. We can't wait to stay with Keith and Yoshiko in Calgary again in the future!

  • We had a lovely stay. Our hosts were very nice friendly people. They gave us a door code so we could come and go as we pleased during the day. We had a comfy bed and our very own bathroom with plenty of hot water and a nice shower. We chose to eat most of our dinners out and found many good restaurants within walking distance. There is a lovely river pathway system close by.

    June 2014
    Response from Keith:

Hello Fayr and Pete. thank you for the lovely review. It was a pleasure meeting and hosting you. regarding the computer desk, we have tried a small desk in the room, but it encourages drinking and eating in the room, which is a problem. With two people in the room space is very limited. I think your stay pushed the limit for two people in that room. Your patience, good attitude and comfort with living in small spaces made it work.

We are making some changes to the room and will think about moving out the large chest of drawers and replacing it with a smaller, perhaps doubling as a desk. thank you for the feedback. We are always looking for ways to up our game.

  • Keith and Yoshika are such wonder people. Their house is lovely and very central to other places. They treated me like part of a family during this one month stay and like what they say I was like their daughter. I was in Calgary for a month, and my husband had joined me for two days. They have been very helpful during this trip and was very thoughtful when they were welcoming my husband's arrival. There dog Ella is such a sweetheart which I just want to take her home! Thank you Keith and Yoshika, you made my stay such a wonderful experience!

    Response from Keith:

thank you for staying with us and the lovely review, Alice. working on the WIFI... Will be calling Shaw about speeding things up.

  • Keith and Yoshiko have a beautiful home, filled with art, light, positive energy and warmth. Conveniently located in Parkdale (i.e., walking distance from the river pathways and the trendy Kensington area, easy access to downtown, Canada 1, the U of C), this accommodation is highly recommended for tourists and visiting ex-locals like myself (proximity to "The Lazy Loaf" was a huge bonus!).
Although we did not have the pleasure of spending much time with our hosts (we had traveled to Calgary for my dissertation defense and had a hectic schedule before we left for Banff), it is important to note that they made sure our stay (and preparation for my defense) was as stress free and enjoyable as possible. I cannot over-emphasize how warm and supporting they both were -- Yoshiko was so kind as to take me to their chanting room and chant with me before I left the house, which made me feel sooo much better!, and they were very eager to know how it went.
Wonderful people, wonderful dog, wonderful house!

    May 2014
    Response from Keith:

Thank you very much for staying with us, Michali. Next time you are in Calgary please stay again. But if you stay somewhere else, please look us up for dinner or tea or a glass of wine!
