Other Things to Note
The summer in Lima starts in December and runs through to May. Daytime temperatures are in the mid 25º (Celcius) or 79º Farenheit and there is about 70/75 percent humidity. This is the most popular tourist season. The spring and autumn months are relatively mild. In the winter, the temperatures can be quite cool 15ºC/59ºF due to the humidity is high (98%), you probably feel that the locals exaggerated wearing too much clothes, but they are not exaggerated , they do so because they know, they live here. Rain is frequent and mist often shrouds the city.
The Jorge Chavez International Airport is located approximately 30 minutes from San Isidro, but in rush hour it could be about an hour . It hosts a range of international airlines from North and South America as well as Europe. There are regular commercial flights that arrive on a daily basis from various destinations. Getting through customs can be quite time consuming so allow extra time for this. Lima also serves as the main hub for regional flights to places such as Cusco and the Inca Trail. To get from the airport to your rental home, your best option is a taxi. There is a counter of GREEN TAXI right out of custons or let us try to pre-book one for your arrival and negotiate the fare in advance. The taxis in Peru are not metered; unless you do this, you may end up paying much more.
Interesting Historical Sights to See
The Museo Nacional de Antropologica y Arqueologica is possibly one of Lima’s greatest attractions. The museum has one of the most impressive and extensive collections of pre-Columbian artifacts in the country. Visitors can see textiles, ceramics and granite obelisks of the Nazca and other ancient civilizations that lived in the region thousands of years ago.
The Museo de Oro is a private museum. It has unique artifacts relating to the treasures of the ancient civilizations. One of the most impressive displays is of golden treasures from the Inca Empire, Moche, Etc.
The Church of San Francisco is a marvelous display of Spanish Colonial architecture. Its unique geometric decoration is intricate and the church is a rare example of Andalucian Moorish design. It is most interesting to visit the catacombs that run beneath the church grounds. These can be accessed through the adjoining monastery which also has an impressive collection of ancient books.
The Historical Center of Lima is an amazing place to visit if you are interested in Spanish Colonial architecture. The center is made up of the Municipal Theater, government palace, train station, main square and cathedral. In addition, there are several viceroyal mansions with Moorish-style balconies which can be found by exploring the old city streets.
The arena at the Plaza de Ancho in Rimac is where traditional bullfights take place. The bullfighting season is relatively brief running from October to November each year. Bullfighting in the Spanish style means that the bull is killed in the end. It is an impressive spectacle to watch if you have an interest in such activities.
Just a 5 minutes by car from property is "The Petit Thouars Handicraft Market", the best place to find hand-made crafts and souvenirs. Here, you can purchase beautiful ceramics, gold and silver jewelry, Baby Alpaca wool sweaters, textiles, traditional outfits and alpaca fur carpets.

The apartment was wonderful - just like on the pictures. Spacious, nicely furnished and well-equipped. There was even coffee, tea and some breakfast items provided in the small kitchen. The apartment is located in a quiet and nice neighbourhood, where I felt very comfortable walking around. Max and his family, who live right next door, were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. I can only recommend this place!
Estúdio do tamanho ideal para um casal. Bem localizado e com vizinhanca tranquila.
I couldn't have hoped for a more comfortable first visit to Lima, Peru. Max and his family were the perfect hosts, Max helped me on the very first day with obtaining a SIMM card and orienting me around the neighbourhood.
The place itself was also exactly what I needed. Private, yet part of the villa grounds, so I got to feel safe, secure, and comfortable as well as had my own space and privacy. I've got a job that keeps me up at all sorts of odd hours, this was perfect because my quarters allowed me to slip away at nights for walks to the nearest convenient shops without disturbing anyone.
The layout of the place was warm, the bed really comfortable. I had everything a person like me might want.
Me gusta el orden, el respeto, la lealtad y el fiel cumplimiento de la palabra empeñada.
I like order, respect, loyalty and faithful performance of the word given.
