Oh My Gosh this place was amazingly beautiful! Huge room with a great view. Great big breakfast. Emma and Francesco were very friendly. Emma doesn't speak much English but she can understand you just fine. She is just so sweet and a great cook. Go to the rooftop at sunset! The 360 views are beautiful. Bay of Naples on one side and Mt. Vesuvius on the other. They offered to pick us up from the Train which was so nice. Definitely stay here. Within walking distance to the Herculaneum ruins
The villa and the Cozzi family are truly special. The home is gorgeous and the rooms full of character. Mr. Mimo and Emma are lovely people and Francesco quickly became a friend! We really loved our stay and would come again very soon. Te breakfast is fantastic! And I love that it is not in Naples proper because it is difficult to judge where the safer areas are. We loved loved loved our experience! Didn't want to leave! Thank you Cozzi family! We felt like we were at home!
The villa is in a great location, but keep in mind there is about a 15 minute walk to the train station and its not super pedestrian friendly.
This is a beautiful accomodation! I loved the room, the courtyard and the wonderful breakfasts! The rooftop view was amazing, and the gardens were well cared for and very relaxing. Emma and here family were very accomodating and helpful.
It was a bit of a walk to the train, but it was nice to be so close to Herculaneum! Some of the sidewalks were narrow, and traffic was usually busy. However, I was able to get where I wanted to go without to much difficulty.
I would reccommend Emma's villa wholeheartedly.
It's wonderful and beatiful house with amazing history. We had a very nice breakfast on the air this September and really enjoyed this place. See you next time!
Nice stay, in a really unique Villa with friendly hosts.
This place is very spacious and pleasant. The hostess is very helpful, and the breakfast was quite good. Facilities were comfortable. It is an easy walk to the train station and Herculaneum.
My favourite accomodation in Italy! While the town of Portici isn't anything special this place is fantastic. He was extremely helpful, the place is huge and the breakfast very satisfactory. If you stay here I strongly recommend trying his friends white wine, it costs hardly anything and is very good. This place was without a doubt my favourite in Italy.
What a convenient place to stay as Villa San Gennariello is a short distance from the busyness of Naples, yet Francesco was able to drive us to train station and ship pier in 15-minutes. The villa is a devine experience with its charming ambiance, historic significance, and careful upkeep by four generations of Emma's family. Breakfast on the patio set amongst gracious gardens is another plus.
Talk about luxury! This is the place. We are lucky enough to have our own little cottage with a private patio connecting to the main house. If you ever wanted to live like a king..this is the place. The grounds are spectacular, a great oasis from the hubbub of the city. The home is an amazing villa and the hosts are special people. We had a bit of a language barrier but managed. Breakfast was plentiful and filling. Location is good. Only drawbacks was the distance to restaurants and attractions. All are within walking distance or a short drive away. However, traffic in Portici is a nightmare and it is very easy to get lost..we did. Also when you are walking, sidewalks are not plentiful nor big so often you are walking in the street with traffic. So beware. Also the main house is not air conditioned so a bit warm. Of course Italy was in the grips of a heat wave so normally that may not be a problem. For those who need internet..it was only available in one room of the villa, a beautiful room indeed, except for being a little warm.
wonderful place to start the trip in South Italy :) and to relax... to spend some time in very cosy house in very nice family...
very important - everything looks even better than in the photos here:)
thank You, for everything You did for us... for super service ... deep sleep, nice view... good time and good vine... the place is highly recommended:)
