Il Fienile is a recently and lovingly renovated stone built cottage is in a very quiet are of the Italian Apennine Mountains. It is a cosy self-catering holiday home and will be your away from it all mountain retreat. It offers a garden and a gazebo for al fresco dining.

The space
Downstairs, the house has an open plan living room/diner/kitchen with a woodturning fireplace to keep you cosy.
The kitchen features an oven, a microwave and a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a kettle. There are plenty of pots and pans.
The cottage is fitted with a TV which has both Italian and English television. Reception is sometimes subject to the vagaries of the weather.
Il Fienile was given the name because before renovation it had been used to store hay for the winter feed. As child I remember it as a sort of barn.

The nearest airport is Parma International Airport, 60 km from the property.

On colder days there is a wood burning fire with wood provided. There is also and air conditioning and heating unit which functions at the touch of a switch.

This is a porcine mushroom producing area.

A few years ago heavy snow caused the roof to collapse and the house started to crumble. No one in the village thought to see it renovated. We decided to keep as much of the stone as we could. This makes it look very rustic but the heating keeps it warm in the winter and the thick walls keep it cool in the summer.
Il Fienile is a green house. There are solar panels on the roof and a wood burning fire place.

To make your stay as comfortable as possible we have ensured that the house has all the essentials - towels, bedlinen and hand wash are included, and additional items such as dishwasher tablets and toilet rolls are all provided for your use. We have a washing machine that you can use should you wish. It is located in the owner's property.

Guest access
The guests will be able to use all of the house and garden. There is now a gazebo outside for alfresco eating. There are also sun-loungers.

Other things to note
There is a new fully fitted kitchen. The burners run on liquid gas and the oven is electric. There are plenty of pots and pans for guests to make their food.
The house is in a remote location so currently no WiFi or mobile phone reception in the village but we are doing our best to find a provider. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS WHEN BOOKING.
