The Space

The house is century old, has a lot of charm, and is in a quiet neighbourhood.

In the heart of the trendy Plateau, two minutes away from Lafontaine parc, near Mont-Royal and Rachel street, you are close to everything: cafés, bakeries, restaurants, grocery stores, shops, etc. Mont-Royal and Sherbrooke subway stations (email hidden) walking distance or 10 minutes by bus (97, 45 and 29). Bixi bike station is two streets away.

Sheets and towels provided. Acces to wifi.

Guest Access

A parking space behind the house can fit a medium size car (138 inches/14 ft ).

Interaction with Guests

I love meeting people from different countries and would be delighted to tell you about places to explore. I speak french, english, and some basic spanish.
I live with my lovely 2 year old boy and our rooms are upstairs. He is sociable, sleeps at night and rarely cries.

  • The location was good for my purposes. The room was tiny but that was fine. I didn't need a lot of space. It's a shared bathroom but contention for it was never an issue. There is a small child that one would want to be aware of. The garden in the yard was an oasis. Very nice facility overall.

  • I had a lovely stay at Veronique's place. She is a very nice woman and her little boy is so cute. The room was clean, cool in the summer time and quite at night. The neighboorhood is full of nice cafes and restaurant. I can definitely recommend the place!

  • I stayed here one week in the room (sometimes the entire apartment is rented out as well). It's a small room but the bed is comfortable enough and it's situated at the front of the apartment, away from the rest of the living quarters, so you can have a bit of privacy.

Veronique's cottage is situated in a great area - the Plateau is probably the most authentic neighborhoods in Montreal. She is a great host! Very relaxed and eager to help. She's around most evenings, as well as her adorable son - a two-year-old who will try to win you over straight away! Staying here felt like staying with family. As long as you're open to having a kid around, this place is very enjoyable.

  • It was great staying in Veronique's cottage. The room is nice and clean, and the bed is comfy.
Veronique is very nice and friendly and we shared a couple of glasses of wine when I was around. Her little son, Emile, is adorable.
The kitchen is great too if you need to cook some meals and the garden is a real delight.
The location is great, 1 minute away from La Fontaine Park and very close to rue Mont-Royal with all its bars, restaurants, shops. The Mile-End is 20-30 min walk away. Bixi stations are also near the cottage.
It was my first time in Montreal and I loved it. My favorite places near the cottage are Le Moineau Masqué for coffee and La Salle A Manger for great food.
The only downside is that if you intend you sleep in you may be awoken early in the morning because the room is right next to the kitchen. It wasn't so much of a problem for me because I wanted to wake up early anyway or I just used earplugs but I guess that's probably something worth knowing.

  • Veronique is an excellent host. She responded immediately and was always prompt in doing so. Our request was extremely last minute and Veronique was kind enough to accommodate us. She is an open minded, free spirited type and made us feel right at home. She has a beautiful garden and her place is very clean.
She is in an excellent neighbourhood, with access to all amenities. I've been to Montreal many times and had never stayed in Plateau. This part of the city is close to downtown however has its own chamrm

  • Veronique's place was a dream. The sunny interior, peaceful garden, and quiet neighborhood were just what I needed on my vacation. Veronique made me feel welcome and provided excellent recommendations about how to explore the city. Thanks to this incredibly positive experience and cultural exchange, I will seek out similar opportunities whenever I travel to a new city!

Merci Jaiemi pour ta visite. Emile était très content du petit origami et de savoir que ça venait de toi. Laisse moi savoir si tu décides de louer avec airbnb.

  • I booked Veronique's room for two friends of mine, and while I didn't get to see her place myself, Veronique was friendly, responsive and flexible with the booking and unexpectedly late arrival.
