A lovely room with a big view of the Charles River. An antique double bed and a private bath, wifi, tv, ac, coffee machine and hair dryer. Great location for jogging along the river and a short walk to Harvard Square. Perfect for a guest visiting Harvard University for a few days but also for those who want to take the "T" to Boston.
Poly is a great host and loves to host people .I often had interesting chat with her during breakfast. Poly cooks excellent breakfast and ensures the taste of her guests.
The house is located just opposite to River (website hidden) is a pleasure walking along the banks of the river during early morning.
Harvard square is a 5-7 mins. walk from here or you may get Bus or Rapid (71/73) just across the road to reach Harvard Square. Kendall Square is 10 mins. distance by Red line from Harvard Square. I'll definitely recommend others to stay here
I have to say that Polly made my very first experience with Airbnb a wonderful one! Her home is welcoming, comfortable and very conveniently located close to Harvard Square. We had enjoyable conversations during our tasty breakfasts. I felt safe walking back by myself down Mt. Auburn Street at night, and she was always there to greet me when I returned at night. The room is clean and bright and had everything I needed, and more! I enjoyed the private bathroom and having the entire third floor to myself. The shower is great, too. From previous reviews I knew that there would be street noise during the night, so I was prepared for that. I would love to stay here again.
I am thrilled to have found Polly's lovely BandB in Cambridge full of wonderful art and rugs, enticing books, and New Yorker and Atlantic magazines--wish I had more time to laze around. I was attending an HKS/HBS conference for a few days, so this location is perfectly located--a brief lovely walk ~10 minutes from Harvard Square. Despite the rainy weather, I was tucked away comfy and cozy in my 3rd floor room with a great view of the Charles, a private bathroom (wonderful towels, terrific hot shower, and a robe), and plenty of closet and desk space with wifi. Polly is a gracious helpful host-- up early to prepare a range of breakfast choices. The only disappointment was that my full conference schedule and visits with family and friends didn't leave enough time for a bit more conversation with this engaging woman. I will definitely return when I can find an excuse to be in Cambridge again!
Polly has a beautiful home and is a lovely host.
Polly and her house are fantastic. The B&B is within easy walking distance of Harvard, and of the T into Boston, even in the cold winter days I was there. There's a wonderful view of the Charles river from the room. The room itself is perfect - it's plenty big and is great for a short stay or even, I would think, a longer one. Polly has plenty of information about Boston and there's loads of reading material (and a television) in the room. She makes excellent breakfast and went out of her way to accommodate my travels on my last day. I look forward to going back!
I loved staying with Polly. Her home was lovely, the room and bathroom were super private, and the area was beautiful and safe. I enjoyed breakfast and chatting with Polly--she is a very interesting, caring person. This will definitely be my go-to spot to stay in Cambridge.
A fantastic host and great location! Polly is awesomely friendly and the room is very clean with great views of the river. Easy walking distance to Harvard Square area.
This is a fantastic location in Cambridge, with easy access to Harvard square: a car is not needed. The room is very comfortable and Polly is an extremely responsive, friendly, and conscientious host. I would recommend this house to anybody coming to Cambridge for any length of time. Great location on the Charles River, near the hospital, and only a short walk to Darwin's and other great cafes in Harvard square.
I had a truly wonderful experience staying at this B & B. Polly was an excellent host, very accommodating and quite knowledgeable about the region. The room was charming and cozy with an authentic New England feel right across from the Charles River. The proximity to the Harvard Smithsonian CfA was an easy walk through a delightful neighborhood. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is planning a trip to the Cambridge area!
My stay at Polly's was comfortable and convenient. She made a wonderful breakfast each morning and accommodated for my weird schedule. Friendly lady. Beautiful house. Would stay again.
