Lucky Chalet 13 is a large ranch style house on a private 3 acre lot, located at the base of Piney Mountain in beautiful Nelson County. Conveniently located close to The Rockfish Valley, where numerous Wineries, Breweries, and Cideries are located. Also about 1 mile from 3 Ridges Wilderness Area of George Washington National Forest and the famous Appalachian Trail. Wintergreen Ski Resort is only 1/2 miles away.

The space
Chalet 13 is unique because it's very private, has a full game room (ping pong, foosball, pool/air hockey table), and it's all on one level! Only 1 step in the entire house. Great for guests that can not climb steps. It also has lots of natural light through out because of the abundance of skylights and large windows. While the 3 acre lot is partially cleared in the front of the house, the rear abuts against the forest. While setting in the Living room, you feel as if you are setting in the forest because of 5 full glass windows create a panoramic view of the forest. Lots of hiking opportunities in our area. Directly behind the house is 3 Ridges Mountain where the Appalachian Trail treks up to an elevation of 4000 feet creating gorgeous views of the Tye River Valley below (3000 foot drop), with The Priest Mountain protruding up to over 4000 feet. Both Three Ridges and The Priest Mountains are Wilderness Areas within George Washington National Forest. If you desire privacy, a large game room, and a beautiful Natural Environment this is the house for you.

During your stay
We hope you enjoy the Natural Environment of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Our beautiful environment also includes "critters" that live on and around the mountains so you should prepare to encounter them. You should bring insect repellent. Lady bugs are present in the spring and fall, and stink bugs in the summer. Sometimes they get into Chalet 13 so you may see some of them.
