The private room will be just that - your own private space. You will share the common areas with the other tenants. You may use any of the appliances and help yourself to the pots/pans if you want to cook.
Laundry, laundry detergent, and dryer sheets are free! We also live right next to two dry cleaners and a tailor.
You will share a full-size bathroom with one of the female tenants.
Ladies, lighten your load and leave your hair dryers, curling irons, and straighteners at home! Feel free to use ours if you like.
Interaction with Guests
Three females in their late twenties occupy the apartment. Everyone works full-time jobs and are usually gone from 8AM-8PM. On the happy occasion that we are all home we will certainly open a bottle of wine or pour whiskey and kick back in the living room.
If you value respect and privacy as much as you also value fun and new experiences we would love to host you as our guest.
East Village is east of Broadway, extending from Houston to 14th Street and is alive 24 hours-a-day, seven days a week! Saint Marks Street, only several blocks away, is a buzzing destination where vendors and cheap restaurants abound. Indian, Middle Eastern, Ukrainian, Japanese, Tibetan, Mexican, and many more cuisines can be found. Some of the best Off-Off Broadway theaters, comedy clubs, rock venues, and jazz clubs, are also here - minus the upscale cover charges.
We are just down the street from the Lower East Side (LES), 15 minute walk of the historic Bowery neighborhood and a 20 minute walk to the infamous shopping areas of SoHo. We are surrounded by CitiBike stations. There is also a martial arts studio, free yoga studio (Yoga to the People), and a New York Sports Club just across the street!
All of us are very familiar with NYC and have lived in many other neighborhoods (Upper East Side, Harlem, Brooklyn, Noho, Lower East Side, Queens, and other areas of East Village) before moving into this beautiful apartment together. Although we aren't tour guides, we are eager to provide any information about NYC and offer great tips for where to eat, what to see, and how to "be a local". We love our neighborhood and we LOVE New York City!
Within a 5 minute walk of the M15 & M15Select Bus, 10 minute walk of the J,F,M trains and 15 minutes of the B, D, 6, N, R. Surrounded by CitiBike stations. Uber and Lyft are just a tap of your phone away. New York City is literally at your feet.
Other Things to Note
You are welcome to use all appliances but must provide your own food. You are welcome to any pots/pans if you want to cook and stay hydrated with our Brita filter. We will provide a towel, sheets, blankets, and pillows. If you would like to do laundry, help yourself to the detergent and dryer sheets on top of the washer/dryer. Please let me know if you plan to do laundry and I'll provide instructions.
Mutual respect for the other tenants. Basic etiquette; clean up after yourself! Everyone is very friendly and would love to help out with anything you need.
Rachel was a great host. She is friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and cozy. The bed is super comfortable! The roommates are very nice and will answer any questions you may have. I would highly recommend Rachel as a host!
Rachael was super helpful. My flight was delayed and I was unable to meet her. But she left the keys with the drycleaners downstairs. The neighborhood was perfect for where I wanted to go (NYU). Nice and quiet and I slept very well. The room was clean as was the apartment. Would definitely crash there next time I am back in the east coast.
The reservation was canceled 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Rachel was really cool, very communicative, and really friendly. And so were her roommates!
Great east village location, close to 2nd av F train, its a 4th floor walkup but the apartment is really nice, great renovations, bed was comfortable, great stay. Thank you!
Rachael was very welcoming, and incredibly nice. The room is great, so is the rest of the apartment, clean, nicely decorated, has all you need.
Rachael and her roommates were very nice and friendly and are willing to help you with any questions you may have. The room was cozy and it had everything that you would need. I loved the location, there are many great little bars and restaurants literally down the street and within a walkable distance. Accessing the railway was easy as the F station is just 2-3 blocks away. I would highly recommend staying here, it is a great way to experience the city.
Rachel's apartment was very nice, and she was extremely easy to coordinate with her to get keys/check in. Rachel is highly responsive and very accommodating.
Her roommates made me feel right at home, chatted with me, gave me recommendations for restaurants in the area, and even invited me out for drinks one night.
The room is very comfortable - everything in the apartment is recently renovated and very nice. Their place is in a lively part of the East Village - a great place to stay if you want to get out and explore. It was a little loud on weekend nights, but I found turning on the fan in the window did a fine job of filtering out noise and I slept quite well.
Only other downside is that, like many places in Manhattan, it is a 3rd story walk-up. I didn't mind, but if you're someone for whom 3-4 flights of stairs several times daily is a problem, this would not be a very accessible place for you.
I had a wonderful stay, and would recommend to anyone.

About the Host, Rachael
Hi all! I'm a late-twenties laid-back female that gets to call NYC home. I'm a Fulbright alum and a current New York City Teaching Fellow, earning my second master's degree in education. I've traveled to 26 countries, lived in two outside of the U.S. and seven U.S. states. I love bacon, bourbon, Irish coffee, and everything spicy!
My roommates are also females in their mid-late twenties. They work in nursing, finance, and public relations. All are very relaxed, always on-the-go, and love hosting our Airbnb guests!
