This was just our second time using Airbnb and our first experience doing so overseas and we feel very lucky to have chosen Dominique's villa from the many options in Ubud, where we had never before been. The location was perfect -- tucked away behind the busy streets on a charming hidden path that itself has some cute shops, a yoga studio, and a great local restaurant, the Yellow Flower Cafe. The villa was exactly what we needed. Clean, well-styled, with hot showers, bedrooms closed off from bugs and wildlife, and a nice pool for when it got hot. We always felt safe. Domininque was very communicative leading up to the trip and made many thoughtful and personalized recommendations, which we took, including a great legong performance at the ARMA museum, which we would not have found otherwise (you should go!). The house team is great, with safe, responsible drivers who always picked us up on time. We felt like very well taken care of guests staying at a friends' place; we could not ask for more. We were there only three nights and immediately wished we had more time!

Our experience at Dominique's home was top notch. Everything about it was amazing for our family. We loved her style and the quality of the villa, it's surroundings, the local Balinese family that helped us in so many ways and of course Ubud. What an absolute treat. We feel so grateful to have been able to enjoy the experience. Dominique incredibly helpful and has really gone an extra mile to ensure that we had the best experience possible. Wayan, Como and Comby truly are a "dream team" and we miss them already. When we visit Ubud again we will definitely be staying at Dominique's.

Great hidden villa in the rice fields! My girlfriend and I stayed here for several days while in Ubud and had a great time. The villa is off the beaten trail, but is still walkable to many sights as well as necessities (e.g. monkey forest, supermarket, and the main street in Ubud with many restaurants and shops). Also, breakfast was included and was delicious (eggs, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, and toast). Good wifi as well (if it is running slow, ask the housekeeper Wayan to put a fresh card in the router). We were also able to organize a driver through our host Dominique to take us to the Sekumpul waterfall one day. Great villa and great stay! We would come back! Note that the villa is an open air design, but mosquito nets are provided over the bed and we had no issues with any insects while sleeping.

Beautiful, clean, wonderful staff, amazing decor, gorgeous yard surrounding "open" home, terrific pool and just a dreamy place all around. This has been the most magical part of our trip to Bali. We stayed in Sanur and Lovina but this place was the best! We don't like over crowded areas and this was just close enough to the center of Ubud but off the beaten path just enough. Dominique was very responsive and helpful with everything we needed and so was Wayan, her husband and their two sons (the staff/manager)! We were well taken care of. Didn't want to leave! HIGHLY recommended.

We came to experience authentic Bali's lifestyle, culture and to be close to a village in Ubud. We had all that and more... Dominique's villa offers that natural green living we were looking for. Which means there is no air conditioning and but there were lots of opportunity to enjoy the outdoor living spaces. We love spending time at the swimming pool and looking at the fish in the pond. The villa has all the modern conveniences like constant hot water, clean sheets and clean towels. This villa even came with house cleaning service, mineral water and home-cooked breakfast. Our family has stayed in AirBnb apartments/villas for over 150 nights and this is the only one that provided breakfast. If you are looking to get away from it all, pay a cheaper price for your accommodation than the hotels and want to be in Ubud, the cultural center of Bali- look no further. Of course it was hot and humid in the villa. After all this is Bali- the tropical paradise of Asia. Dominique's team at the villa were very helpful. They are locals who showed us places that we would have never got to go to if we didn't stay in Ubud. We learned so much about the Balinese culture and lifestyle during our 7 nights stay. Thanks to Dominique and her team- Wayan, Nyoman and Como.

We found this villa on Airbnb last minute after our other accomodation fell through at short notice. As we were travelling with young children (a 3 year old and 6 month old) it was slightly stressful arriving in Bali with no accomodation booked. However, as soon as we made our booking at Alam Charm we realised our initial setback was actually our good luck! Minik responded to our messages and questions promptly from the beginning and for the duration of our stay - always happy to help out with information and any questions we had. She organised a driver (Komby) to pick us up and bring us to the Villa and immediately we felt in good hands. The family who look after the Villa are all so lovely and helpful and kind and they really helped make our stay special. The Vila itself is situated in a perfect place away from the dust and hustle and bustle of Ubud centre but it's close enough to walk and only a quick tax ride away. The grounds are lush and green and I loved the open plan living with the bedrooms on either side giving some space from each other if needed. I was nervous about staying somewhere without a pool fence (ie most places in Bali) with our three year old but the layout of Alam Charm meant it was quite easy for us to keep her (or the pool) in sight at all times. The information folders Minik has written and collated are filled with invaluable information. We followed many of her suggestions and were always glad each time, as we had wonderful experiences that we otherwise wouldn't have known about. One such simple but memorable experience was taking our daughter to watch the children's dance class at ARMA museum on Sunday morning which she just adored. I could go on but really I think all the information is in the description. We didn't have any bad surprises, only good experiences. A few things other people have mentioned in their reviews such as the Villa being open to the elements or being too hot at night didn't bother us (maybe the time of year was perfect). The Villa always felt cool during the day even when it was hot outside, the ceiling fans kept us cool at night and the nets kept the mosquitos away while we were sleeping (although I definitely recommend taking mosquito repellent with you for the evenings anyway). The mattresses are definitely on the firm side but I got used to them after a couple of nights. I guess if you are scared of frogs and gecko's this might not the place for you .. or just be reassured that most of the creepy crawlies there are not harmful and stay out of your way. We would definitely stay here again if/when we return to Bali!

Minik's place is beautiful. Everywhere you look, whether it is inside the villa or in the garden, is visually stimulating and calming at the same time. There is wonderful art work, furnishings, colours and knick knacks adorning all the spaces. The garden has dozens of plant, flower and tree species. We are a family of four, with 7 mth old and 6 yr old, and we stayed 5 nights. There was a baby cot available for free which was considerate, and out 6 yr old loved the pool and feeding leftover bread to the fish. Wayan the housekeeper watched our children while my wife and I went to the yoga studio close by, every morning. She made us a small continental breakfast each, to which we added our own eggs and bacon - this was great start to the day. We had not been back to Ubud in 20 years, and unfortunately the town suffers badly from traffic air pollution, which made us appreciate being being out at Minik's even more, as it was quiet, and the air fresh.
