Your own private courtyard room with separate entry, ensuite and breakfast bar - all you need for somewhere cosy to stay while spending your days exploring beautiful Queenstown and surrounds.
The room has it's own entrance off the courtyard and is slightly separate from the main house. The room has an ensuite and breakfast bar with tea and coffee making facilities as well as a fridge, toaster and microwave for breakfast preparation.
We are more than happy for guests to use the courtyard during their stay but there is no specific access to lounge/dining/kitchen facilities - Queenstown has so many amazing cafes, restaurants, activities and entertainment so you are unlikely to need them.
Wireless internet is available on request and we have a range of dvds to borrow if you are having a quiet night in.
Peaceful and beautiful Sunshine Bay is only 5 minutes drive or a stunning 30-40 minute walk from the centre of Queenstown.
*A discount may be available for stays of 4 or more nights at certain times of the year*
We recommend guests have their own car but we would appreciate if guests park on the road due to keeping the neighbours access free. There is plenty of car parking on the main road and also a small free public parking area just around the corner on a very quiet street.
Interaction with Guests
We are locals who are working and renovating so we sometimes aren't around a lot but are happily flexible with check in and check out times where possible.
Sunshine Bay is a quiet and safe residential suburb near the heart of Queenstown with stunning lake and mountain views. From our house, it's only a 5-10 minute walk along the Sunshine Bay track to the lake edge through beautiful NZ forest. There is a reserve a few doors down and also a public tennis court/play ground out the back of the property.
There is a bus service to Sunshine Bay but to be honest, it isn't particularly frequent. The Fernhill bus route is much better and is about 1km away. We would suggest having a car.
Other Things to Note
Wireless internet is available on request.
At certain times of the year, for stays of 4 or more nights we offer a discount off the nightly rate. Please enquire.
We recommend having your own transport/car when staying here.
The reservation was canceled 12 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Abby and Micheal were wonderful host, their accommodation is perfect for a couple travelling in the Queenstown area. The bed was very comfortable and the location was great. It was an easy 30 minute walk to the downtown area which eliminated trying to find a parking spot in the city. Would recommend anyone to stay. Abby thanks for the great tip on the Gibbston Valley Winery and Cafe the food was delicious.
We loved staying here, it was very clean and beautifully decorated. As it was separate from the house you have lots of privacy. The hosts were also very friendly.
Great space, very cosy and relaxing and good value compared to other places to stay I'm q town.
Would love to stay again!
Top tip - go to Pedro's house of lamb, get a bottle of wine and enjoy in the courtyard!
Stay was perfect. We checked in a little late but it was perfectly fine for us as there are many things to do in Queenstown. Location was abt 5mins drive from the main town. Peaceful and quiet.
Room was awesome..bed was really comfy..a small kitchen area more than sufficient to meet your needs fr a quick breakfast or a small meal..hot shower and the much loved heated towel rack. It was really clean too.
A big thank you to Abby and Michael..a home away from home indeed. Book with confidence.
We had a lovely time staying with Abby and Michael! They were helpful and gracious hosts, and the space was very comfortable. We were able to use the outside patio too which was really nice to relax in and have a cup of tea in the morning. In a location so close to town it was really convenient for us!
Abby and Michael were excellent hosts. They always replied promptly with recommendations and helpful tips before we arrived in Queenstown and have us lots of restaurant and activity tips!
The private room is excellent, it was immaculately clean and exactly how it looks on the pictures.
After a long drive it was great to arrive to tea, coffee, light snacks and milk in the fridge, an excellent touch!
We even enjoyed a glass of wine with them on our last night and enjoyed hearing all about their air bnb experience.
I would defiantly recommend anyone looking for somewhere close to the centre of Queenstown to stay with Michael and Abby.
