About this listing
We have reduced the nightly rate of our apartment to way below what our friends tell us it is really worth - but we want people in it and experiencing all it has to offer. Get in quick at this price.
Located in an iconic Art Deco building in the heart of Darlinghurst, this one bedroom apartment offers all the luxuries. Recently refurbished and decorated it has everything you require including amazing views to the city skyline. It is within a security block and has a luxuriously appointed queen sized bed, large ensuite bathroom, well stocked kitchen i.e. upright oven and hotplates, microwave, fridge and fully appointed kitchen appliances – (ps I love to cook…and I need the right implements)...Important essentials that will ensure that you will not starve when you first arrive ….dining room table and chairs, lounge, coffee table, book collection and television (with DVD player) and music system. The apartment has unlimited Wifi because we know that you need that – just like we do. Views apparent from every window including views of the opera house and the Harbour Bridge (even from the toilet– no less)
Although we are very proud of our unit and the way it presents, the jewel in the crown of this apartment occurs on the upper common rooftop deck area where there are gas operated barbeques and tables and chairs, a newly renovated pool and surrounding gardens and coin operated washing machines and dryers. All of this in a setting which has breathtaking views of the harbour bridge, the opera house and all that Sydney has to offer.
You have the full run of the apartment during your stay as well as access to the common rooftop deck area via a security key.
Interaction with Guests
We would love to meet and greet you and then stay out of your way - but will be available by phone or email at any time.
Darlinghurst is the hub of the city. It's an amazing little inner city village full of gorgeous restaurants and cute coffee places and wine bars but the best part is that it's close to everything! Darlinghurst is edgy – but we LOVE that edge because it means interesting and different.
You can literally walk anywhere you want in the city within about 25 minutes. The Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Surry Hills, Elizabeth Bay, Potts Point, Paddington, CBD are all within easy walking reach and take a short bus trip to the beautiful Bondi Beach.
It's five min walk to Kings Cross train station. 15-20 min walk to Hyde Park. 5 min walk to a bus (389) that'll take you to Bondi Junction and Bondi beach. It's a great location.
Parking is a nightmare - but you do not need a car when you are here. If you do though there are a number of "GoGet" car-share places right outside the apartment. You do need to pre register for these (overseas licences are accepted). For more information and to register search "GoGet"
Other Things to Note
You will not be disappointed in this unit - no one has been...but there is a 3 night minimum to ensure that we are able to give you the best.
No smoking within the apartment please.
We love pets - but not in this apartment please
Out of respect for our neighbours, we believe this apartment is best suited to no more than two people and we only expect that you would treat our home in the way that you would like us to treat your home. Please note this is not a party place …it is a peaceful sanctuary.
About the Host, Sharon And Mal
We are both Sydney born and bred and apparently we are getting older but that is not always what we feel. We are both still running our own businesses so work hard during the week but in down time love sailing, theatre, live music and entertaining. We have a significant number of adult children (phew – all of whom have left home) and remain very engaged in all that offers to us (whether we “always” like it or not!!!! )
We love our primary home on the beach in a little village South of Sydney (about 1.5 hours’ drive – or rail) and relish walking our dogs on the beach every day but also adore getting up to the big smoke and utilising all that offers to us and others. We love travelling and continue to explore places regularly that we have not yet seen together but always try and fit in New York which is our combined favourite city outside our own.
We particularly enjoy our new little apartment in Darlinghurst…and we hope you will too. We have attempted to set up a little “crash pad” filled with love which we feel very comfortable in - which we hope you also appreciate. We have done this in in a wonderful part of our city (which we find edgy but exciting) and so …. Enjoy and welcome to the “Darlings” – we feel confident you will enjoy your stay…that is certainly our intention.
