Adriana and her family are extremely welcoming and helpful. The location is quiet and secluded but a close walking distance to town. There is a beach directly across the street that is beautiful and feels private! Also a walking distance to the Jaguar Rescue Centre (under 1km) if you are looking for things to do nearby. The house is well equipped and comfortable. Overall great stay at Saravaplace and we will definitely be back!

Great place, hosted by great people! It's actually a compound comprising 4 houses: 2 rentals and 2 that are occupied by family members. The houses are very close to one another. We stayed in house no. 2 for 6 nights. The house is as is showed on the pictures, and very clean and well-equipped. We're still a little confused about the leather covered mattresses and pillows, but they were sort of comfortable nonetheless. Only 2 downsides to report: the neighbourhood trafic is very noisy. It may have been that our previous destination was Tortuguero, where there are no cars, and we got used to this unusual calm, but arriving here and hearing the trucks, cars, quads and motorcycles non-stop made us crazy. But we got used to it. Also, house no. 2 is very dark and we had to turn on the lights even during the day. I guess that also made the house less warm, so we never had to use the A/C. House no. 1 is much better lit and even has space to sit on the lawn in the sun. The garden is well maintained, it's a 5-min walk to the beach and to the supermarket with a good selection of wine and gourmet items. Very close to a french bakery and a bike rental place. The Jaguar Rescue Centre is a 15-min walk further south. I would recommend this place to anyone who sleeps easily and does not require total isolation. We do hear what happens in the other houses, so it's better to have a heightened sense of community to stay here. But then again, Adriana and her family are so nice, it makes it easy.

This location is great in so many ways! Coming here for a tropical relaxing vacation and staying in the Saravaplace would be absolutely perfect! Unfortunately our intention for staying here was to work on our online business as digital nomads and this location didn't exactly support that goal for us. We couldn't find any closed in air conditioned coffee shops in the area and the bugs are crazy in Perto Viejo since it's basically in the middle of the jungle! Both of our computers ended up breaking down from the high humidity and we had to leave a couple of weeks early for San Jose where the nearest Mac Store is located. I will list the Pros and Cons of staying here: Pros: Located on main road Near a grocery store and gym Air conditioning in one bedroom Hammocks on front porch Great accessibility to Adriana's mom who also lives on the property and was very helpful! Near the beach Bike ride to Puerto Viejo only 15-20 minutes Cons: Slow Internet Noisy Road and Construction Hard waterproof mattress Far walk away from Puerto Viejo town (45 min)

The location was excellent and the host provided clear and quick communication! The AC in the bedroom worked very well, too.
