Interaction with Guests
Houses are run by a young english/spanish speaking family living in one of the 3 houses on the property, which will be happy to provide you with any help or information required.
Houses are conveniently located on the main road of Cocles Beach, one block from the beach through a jungle trail, one block on the main road from a fully equipped supermarket, and surrounded by a variety of international cafe´s and restaurants in walking distance.
The town is very bike friendly, with bike rentals a block away from the houses. Either the center of Puerto Viejo, or neighbouring beaches Playa Chiquita and Punta Uva are all within a 10 to 15 min bike ride. The center of town is just a cheap taxi away (4 usd), and there is also a public bus service going up and down the main road from Puerto Viejo to Manzanillo every couple of hours.
No pets are allowed. Additional overnight guests must be reported to the owners. Other than that, just basic neighbourly good manners.
My boyfriend and I stayed at Saravaplace for a week recently and we loved it! Adriana and her family are wonderful! We would definitely stay there again. Adriana was very accommodating and easy to get in touch with before and during our trip. She even arranged for us to get a private transfer to the airport in San Jose on our last day. We also rented bikes from Adriana and had a great time riding them around.
As for the house, it is very spacious. We had more than enough room. It is also very clean, and it was cleaned while we were staying there. We cooked breakfast one morning and enjoyed it on the porch, where we listened to all kinds of birds and even saw a toucan once! The walk to the grocery store is very short, and there are also two restaurants very close by, including one amazing Argentinian place. We walked to Puerto Viejo when we didn't have bikes. The walk was about 20 minutes, and we got to see lots of neat things, like turtles, horses, and colorful butterflies, along the way. The bike rides in the other direction to Punta Uva and Manzanillo were very nice and easily under an hour long. Overall, it's a great place with a great location, and Adriana and her family are great, too!
No AirBnB profile could do this place justice. The house, the property, the town, and the hosts were absolutely wonderful.
The house. Gorgeous. Clean, modern, cozy. All we expected and more. We went to sleep to jungle noises and nightly rain showers. Thought it was a dream, then woke up and realized we were really in the jungle a couple hundred yards from a beautiful beach. I spent a lot of time on the porch with coffee in a hammock. Couldn't have been better.
The property was fantastic. Small river abetting the yard. Big trees, beautiful flowers, and wildlife. Howler monkeys in the background and the biggest humming bird I've ever seen hung out with us on the porch for a bit.
Puerto Viejo was a quick bike ride form the property. PERFECT distance. Privacy when we wanted it and local bars and restaurants just down the road. Puerto Viejo was the best town we visited during our trip. I would move there if I could. The locals were extremely friendly, the craft stands were amazing, food was delicious, and we left every fruit stand with handfuls of delicious fruit for less than a buck.
The hosts. If I could get a job helping Shiloh with landscaping, teaching, or anything else, I'd move in. Super friendly. Offered us very cheap bike rentals, and offered to take us fishing on a friends boat if we wanted.
Couldn't be more pleased with our stay at Saravaplace. We will be back.
Our Host(s) Adriana & her family were the perfect hosts, always there for assistance and had their beautiful home in great condition, the home being on the corner of two well traveled roads it was a little noise at times, we are sorry that we did not see Adriana, Chino & Rosa but we greatly appreciated their help & hospitality, would revisit in a "heart beat", great home & great job ... Thanks. ....
Adriana was a great host and made us feel really welcome.
Very happy to help with tips and recommendations.
The house was lovely and rustic.
Hammocks were especially a nice touch
The Saravaplace Tropical House was in a great location, easy walk to the beach. The description and pictures of the place were spot on. The hammocks on the deck were perfect for relaxing.
Saravana is a great place to stay near Puerto Viejo, the house is beautiful with everything you need to chill out (love those hammocks!) and spend great holidays. The house is close from the beaches, Puerto Viejo center, a nice place to have breakfast and a bike rental - what else to say? Ah yes, Adriana couldn't be present but helped a lot in organizing our stay in Sarava and her mother was so nice, so caring to make sure we were fine... Highly recommended, thanks a lot!
