I am a New Zealand born trained teacher who originally ventured into the Pacific...Rarotonga in the late '70's. I have lived in the Cook Islands and Niue over the past 40 years and now about to enter a new chapter in my life and have moved to Vava'u Tonga with Paea my new husband in July 2017. Look for our three Airbnb Fales/units, “Vaimalo Fale" Vaimalo Sunrise and Vaimalo Sunset both over the water. Come and stay. The main attraction is kayaking in the huge Lagoon, snorkeling, fishing, diving and swimming with the whales June-Oct-Nov. See you there for your next trip. Malo.

During your stay
This is Paea’s home village. He is happy to share stories of growing up here and he will take you to his bush garden and on Sundays teach you how to make local food cooked in an umu. You will grate the coconuts. We can arrange a village tour for you with two young people from the village. You can also spend time with the women who weave mats. We welcome you to share the culture and life here in the village.
