Stay in our Belizean bungalow, amongst the swaying palms & banana trees, yet steps away form the beautiful beach and reef, in one of Ambergris Caye's most desirable neighborhoods. Your private getaway is a short walk from great bars & restaurants.
Our bungalow gives you a great mix of lush, tropical forest feel and easy, close beach and reef access. This second story bungalow has stunning all-wooden floors and ceilings, crafted completely from native hardwoods on the mainland. With one bedroom and a loft, this space is perfect for couples or a small group of friends or family traveling together.
Guests have the complete second story bungalow to themselves. The master bedroom offers a king-size bed with walk-in closet, while the loft offers a queen bed, both with custom-made frames and headboards. Guests also enjoy a newly-renovated kitchen with granite countertops and new, stainless steel appliances, along with a new bathroom that includes a vanity and custom-tiled shower. Wi-Fi and cable TV are also included.
Interaction with Guests
I will likely be stateside during our guest stays, but remain available to all guests via email, AirBnB messages, and phone. We do have a caretaker family that lives on the separate first floor unit of our house and is always present to address any immediate needs or concerns of our guests.
Tres Cocos is one of the most-coveted neighborhoods on the island of Ambergris Caye, being comprised mainly of private homes that offer unlimited beach or lagoon access. It's close to the action of San Pedro town, yet far enough away that you can enjoy plenty of natural surroundings and a quieter, more private getaway.
Guests are strongly encouraged to "take a walk" on the beach path to discover the restaurants, bars, and piers that are nearby and offer plenty of good eats and meets to all who stop by. Meet the locals who walk or bike this path to and from work daily and get into the slower rhythm of island life.
Most folks get around the island via walking or bicycle. However, those looking for more can take advantage of a daily or weekly golf cart rental, call a taxi cab, or ride the water taxi.
There is also a water taxi service that continuously runs the length of the island and picks up or drops off passengers at any pier.
Please note there is a bridge toll going over the bridge that separates San Pedro town from the north end of the island. When traveling via golf cart, the charge is $5 US for a round trip or $2.50 US each time you cross.
* Taxi. Several available, mostly old Toyota vans. You can expect to pay $20 US to get to town or vice-versa.
* Water Taxi. Walk to the end of a nearby dock & catch a water taxi at $5 US per person each time you need a ride or purchase a week-long pass for $44 US per person.
* Bike Rental. Take a walk north to White Sands Cove Resort and rent bikes for $5 US/day. Joe's Bikes, in the middle of town, on Middle Street is a bit more expensive, but also reliable. The bridge toll for bikes is $1 US each way.
Other Things to Note
Please, no shoes in the house (keep them on the porch) to protect our wooden floors.
All of our water for the shower and sinks is collected rain water stored in underground cisterns. We appreciate our guests being mindful of this and conserving wherever possible.
Finally, remember that your are truly on island time here, enjoying the journey is part of the experience!
This property is non-smoking and drug free. While we expect guests to enjoy themselves, please respect our neighbors and our caretaker family, who also calls our property home.
Only registered guests inside the bungalow, please. Meet you friends up at one of the many local bars for fun and conversation.
Renting this house could not have been any easier! Everything was exactly as described and pictured. The house was beautiful, comfortable, convenient and secure. Alejandro and Alma, the property caretakers were friendly and helpful but also let us have our privacy. The host, Will, provided a helpful guide to the house and the island. He answered any and all questions that we had thoroughly and immediately via email. The cell phone that was provided with the house was excellent for arranging local tours and trips and for getting in touch with Alejandro. My husband and I rented bicycles to get around San Pedro which turned out to be fantastic, convenient and super cheap. We would both highly recommend staying at Will's place if you're planning a visit to Ambergris Caye!
What a great place. Everything was top notch in a great part of town. We rented a golf cart so it was very easy to get everywhere. It was Easter weekend and San Pedro was crazy so it was great being north of the bridge where it was very calm. The supermarket down the street was extremely convenient. Also all of our tours picked us up at the dock right across the street at The Cloisters. Alejandro was great and the dog Lola was always so excited to see us when we came home. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone coming to the island.
Stayed 4 nights at La Floradita with my wife and Sister-in-law. We had a wonderful stay! Everything was better than described! Alejandro was great and communication with Will leading up to the trip could not have been better! We were worried about being outside of San Pedro, but it was a fantastic neighborhood and walking distance to some great restaurants and bars! We were able to take the water taxi to different resorts and also walked into town many days and rented a golf cart for a day. Everything was very easy! We loved Palapas and Ak'Bol! Will's recommendations were spot on for us! I would definitely recommend staying at La Floradita for your next stay on Ambergris!
Everything was as advertised and we had a great time. We loved having a little dog in the yard that was excited to greet us when we returned after our daily activities! The downstairs tenants were great neighbors.
The only real sour note was that we were there for St. Patrick's Day and that night one of the neighboring bars had a band playing until after midnight. That was the only night though.
Will provided great customer service with speedy responses and helpful tips. House manual was very useful! Thanks for a great stay!
Everything was just as described. The location is perfect. We rented bikes and were able to get almost everywhere by riding along the beach. Would definitely stay here next time I am in San Pedro!
We loved the location! Quieter than being directly in San Pedro, but still within biking distance of anything you would need there. It was wonderful to wander along the beach front and really enjoyed our morning breakfasts at Ak Bol. The apartment was beautiful, obviously well-maintained and provided everything we needed for our stay. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Ambergris.
