The surrounding landscape is a tapestry of olive groves, sheep pastures, woods, sunflower fields, punctuated with cypress and ancient stone oaks. Here, far away from your hectic everyday life you can relax amidst a natural setting. In the early spring, almond and peach blossoms paint the valley. The summer brings honey scented ginestra (broom). Warm august nights are filled with cicada concerts. The hills are laced with golden hues in the mild autumn, warmed by the scent of chestnut fires throughout the valleys. La Rogaia is the perfect spot for those who seek absolute silence: the next public road is 2.5 km away.
There are miles of trails out our doorstep for hiking, mountain biking or horseback riding. The panoramic drive to Lago Trasimeno is as pleasant as the lake itself. Dotted with islands and castles, this lake is a beautiful place to go swimming, sailing and windsurfing. Many historically relevant towns are within easy driving distance from the villa such as Assisi, Perugia, Siena and Arezzo.
The house is situated amidst woods and meadows only 4 kilometers away from the quaint village of Castel Rigone, reached on an country road by car, mountain bike or foot. Those wanting to enjoy one of our creative courses or a week of hiking or biking may wish to arrive by train. Previous arrangement may be made for us to meet you upon arrival at Passignano Station at 10 km distance.
Other Things to Note

About the Host, Annette
