The Space

Come and stay in a beautiful, light, and spacious 4 bedroom house with two king canopy beds and one room with a queen sized bed. Rice field, volcano, and jungle views all around. 2 bathrooms, one en suite downstairs, one shared upstairs between you. Hot water and good pressure! The private pool is maintained daily and there is a large yard. If there are more than 6 people another bedroom with a queen bed is available.

House has permanent security guard, a very nice guy named Komang, who is also a very lovely gardener.

Guest Access

You get to use the amazing private pool, have unlimited WiFi, and a full package of cable television. There is kitchen available with all cooking utensils included, plus I give you a local phone so you can call for delivery from any of the amazing restaurants downtown.

Interaction with Guests

I'm really friendly and genuinely like having guests to come and stay with me. We will be gone during this time but I will answer any questions you have to get you ready for your vacation in Bali :)

The Neighborhood

This area of Ubud is a stunning yet quiet village. The house is in walking distance to many restaurants and spas. It's 2.5km to the center of Ubud so this (email hidden) for someone who is looking to get "away from it all" instead of be in the center of the action.

Getting around

It's best if you don't mind walking, hire a driver, or you can drive a motorbike to get around.

  • I loved this apartment. It was really spacious and stylish room, more than I expected. Especially enjoyed that relaxing atmosphere and my evenings on the terrace, listening for the sounds coming from the rice field.
Sue is attentive host and friendly person. It was easy to communicate with her during my stay and before arrival. I'm also glad I had a chance to meet (email hidden)-working space!

  • Sue has a great little villa on the outskirts of Ubud. Good local eateries - the popular "Cucina Trattoria" chain has just opened 5 mins walk away. Great out-of-town spot that avoids the roads in Ubud, and good also for walking over the rice terraces.

  • Really enjoyed our stay at Loka Pala villas. We wanted to relax (nothing energetic) and to leave things unplanned, to enjoy some peace, and be a short walk away from things so that we could get some incidental exercise in. Ticks those boxes - villa is spacious enough to hang out at all day and pool is perfect for jumping in and out of anytime, the great staff just work their housekeeping around you, D'Waroeng (delicious) and Soka Home Kitchen are only 5 minutes (strolling) away for drop in meals, laundries & sundry shops conveniently, beautiful peaceful surrounds (Nyuh Kuning is gorgeous, and Loka Pala's garden is so serene!). And Ubud is a perfect 20 minute stroll away. Mobile phone and torch were really thoughtful and helpful provisions, loved the great books stacked at the dressing table. With all that one can easily spend the whole two weeks just in Nyuh Kuning if you're really looking for some solitude and full on slothfulness. But if not - it's always easy to organise a ride into town (Wayan Oka & Wayan Adi are so professional). We're looking forward to coming back.

  • It was a real pleasure to stay in Sue Place, it's like in pics, the village is very clean and spacious, open on the rice field behind.

I recomand highly this place because it's so beautifull and peacefull.
Thank's so much Sue for this Eden.

  • Nice, clean and safe accommodation with modern furnished private villas. Big room with tow nice terraces to the pool and the rice fields.
Room has no air conditioning, so be prepared to have opened doors in the nights.

It's a 15-20 min walk to Ubud main road passing the monkey forest. Cab home in the night is approx. 40 K (2,50 €). Tell you driver to bring you to "Bumi Sehat hospital". That's a little hospital just in front of the little street going to the villas every taxi driver knows.

In total it's a perfect quiet place to stay in Ubud. If you take a cab in the night, location is totally ok. No need to stay in the centre ob Ubud.

  • The Villas (we ended up staying in both) were spotless, characterful and a total haven. Quite a long walk from Ubud (but fine if you get a motorbike for 5dollars a day) and in a GORGEOUS walled off town called Nyuh Kuning near the monkey forest, we felt absolutely privileged to be 'living' in this part of town. The pool is such a bonus in the very humid heat of Ubud (prob not as bad as the rest of Bali but still hardwork). The only problem is you won't want to leave! The room was cleaned daily and the grounds were lush green, peaceful (despite others living in around 4-5 other villas closeby) and stunningly decorated. It was nice to have the extra seating on both sides of the villa and inside. SO MUCH lounging possibilities it was almost overwheling. Sue was extremely helpful, communicative, full of great advice and the perfect host. This was the jewel in our crown of a holiday. Highly recommended.

  • Sue (email hidden), even answering questions before I booked. She also helped arrange transport from the airport which was really nice. As there is no formal "check in" area, it was lovely of Sue to come to the villa to greet me shortly after I arrived and offer any help I may need. She also made time to chat with me and offer suggestions of areas to visit while in Ubud, which I appreciated. The villa itself was lovely and located off the main village road among beautiful grounds with a pool and big Ganesh statue leading up to the door. The room was large and simple, with everything you need, including a small kitchen outside. Their were two friendly little kittens who came into my room to visit each day- I didn't mind at all as I'm a cat person ;-)
As for location, Nyuh Kuning village was clean, quiet and locals were friendly. It was wonderful to tour the Bumi Sehat birthing centre and see the amazing work they do (it's just across the street from the villa). I made friends with those running the local Warung too and they were so nice (not to mention delicious food!) The village is located about a 25 minute walk into the centre of Ubud. During the day walking through the monkey forest pathway was no problem at all and the monkeys kept to themselves but after dark I felt much more comfortable taking a taxi or motorbike in from town, and if you take a taxi its about a 5 minute walk from the street along a very dark path to the villa so bring a flashlight, especially if travelling alone-or better yet, a motorbike can drive you right to the door! Though I never actually saw security on the grounds after dark I was assured the property was monitored...That being said it was safe as I had no problems during my stay. It was mostly very quiet which was lovely, especially to sit out on the patio overlooking the rice fields and watch the fireflies (with the exception of a couple late & loud social nights had by the neighbours which was difficult to escape the sounds being so close with the villas in a family style compound). Overall it was a lovely stay and if you enjoy being away from the business of central Ubud, it's a great location!

  • Sue. ( a darling) has 78 reviews. I cannot add anything original to mine, so feel it's all been said.
One thing that has not is the chatting to the local Gods that I hear right now at 8:00 am.
If you do not come here you miss out.

  • A beautiful spot, clean, with a friendly staff. Sue was very helpful. We loved the pool after a hot day in Ubud. Construction, about which we were warned, might be a deterrent to some. Looks like it will be going on through Sept. 2014. Needed to use our cellphones as flashlights to navigate the lanes from the road to the compound at night. Nyuh Kuning is a quiet area with some fine restaurants and shops. Bring soap.
