We rented the entire house for family and friends and spent 3 fantastic days in the riad. The location is really walking distance to Medina yet it's quiet in a hidden lane. Rooms are as shown in the pix, small but comfy enough even for family of 4. We held a party where the host arranged delicious local food, band and belly dancers, Hanna painting, all made our trip easy and enjoyable. Karim gave us lots of valuable advice, had a super helpful team and has arranged the best local tour guide for us. If you don't speak any French, communication in th riad might be a bit of an issue. All in all the whole group was very happy!
We had a wonderful time in Marrakesh staying at Riad Farah. We were a group of 9 architects away on a short break. Riad Farah was perfect: transport was arranged from the airport and we were greeted upon arrival with Mint tea and biscuits. The rooms are all very good, each with A/C and the roof terrace is lovely. All in all, a great experience and one that we have no hesitation in recommending.
Road Farah was a fantastic house next to the main Medina in Marrakesh! Although there were some issues related to walking on the riad walls and some concerns by the neighbors, for the most part, it was a good experience! For a large riad and the number of people that were able to reside at one time (23), I was surprised by how unfriendly a response I received from the owner and manager as to how my group needed to be quiter and that large gatherings, parties were not allowed even though the description of the Riad on the site lists it as an ideal place to have parties and large family gatherings! One concern that I have shared with the host and the Airbnb site was an incident in which outside locals tried to get in one night and were denied by myself and my guest! An individual not known then tried to force his way in and I had lots of trouble trying to contact the manager and the local authorities! That was of upmost concern.
We've had many groups for birthday events from all ages and we've never had problems before Jean-Michel's group, Riad Farah is a large house and perfect for gathering but it doesn't mean anything is possible. Rules are clearly written and had been clearly explained to Jean-Michel before he booked the houseI. Jean-Michel's group were very disrespectful, they climbed the walls of the Riad the first night and went to the neighbour's terrace who were very upset! Morrocco is a muslim country and entering someone's house on the terrace is a very serious offense. Jean-Michel is from the USA, I doubt he would enter someone else's property at night by climbing the walls and expect everything to be fine. I called Airbnb right away and tried to get in touch with Jean-Michel who never replied to me saying he had no email access while there is high-speed wifi in the house... I asked Airbnb to contact Jean-Michel for them to change their behaviour but nothing changed, even worse happened. Jean-Michel booked the house for him and his friends but in fact he used the house like his own hostel having different people staying on each night, there was so much movements from so many different people that someone in the street noticed it and tried to take advantage of this and tried to make his way to the Riad. Jean-Michel called us at 1am and we did send someone to come and clear things out. After all this they left the house very dirty with lots of alcool bottles everywhere and dirty towels. Overall a total lack of respect for the people working here and living in the area. You can make your mind about Jean-Michel's comment by reading all the other comments I have here on Airbnb.
Riad Farah is a beautiful house in a brilliant location. Karim was so helpful - he really couldn't have done more for me in the build up to our stay. I asked him countless questions to which he came back to me with friendly and helpful answers. I stayed here with 15 girls for my friend's hen do. It was a wonderful experience, made all the better by staying here. The Riad is huge - even for 16 of us. It was lovely and spacious. The roof terrace is a great area to sunbathe in and the rooms are clean and traditional. Breakfast and dinner was very tasty too. I would 100% recommend this property to anyone who wants an authentic Marrakech experience. It is 30 seconds away from the huge square and market place. Ideal! Don't let the alleyway entrance put you off - it's truly beautiful inside. Quiet too. Thanks Karim and the lovely ladies at the house - we had a brilliant stay.
