This was my first Airbnb experience and I hope they are all this magnificent! Advice to others: If you're looking to stay in Malibu, please be aware that the mountains are quite steep leading right down to the coast. I was fully aware that anything not right on the coast is going to be way up in the mountains, but first-time visitors might not realize this.
With that understanding, this was a wonderful place to stay in one of the most beautiful sections of the Malibu mountains. Communication with William (manager) during the booking process was excellent. Directions to the location were impeccable. And once I got to the home I couldn't believe the view. The room overlooks a sweeping vista of the ocean along with majestic views of the sparsely populated hillside neighborhood. I looked forward to waking up at 6am (believe it!) just to see how the ocean transformed with the sun rising over the mountains behind. The sunsets were equally amazing.
The room and accommodations were everything I could hope for. A nice amount of space, very clean, and the kitchenette was nicely stocked. I appreciated the coffee supplies including fresh milk, english muffins and butter for a quick breakfast, and a couple of cold beers to enjoy while watching the sun set. Be warned that I had 0 cell signal with AT&T, so I very much appreciated the good Wifi connection and the dedicated phone line. I needed to join a couple of work calls while there and the setup was perfect.
Nick the homeowner was very nice and made me feel welcome. We chatted a couple of times and his insights on the area were helpful. I could tell that he and his wife were sensitive to the privacy of their guests and are running an amazing Airbnb here. I would highly recommend this location and I expect I will stay here again.
From start to finish, a remarkable experience. Peaceful, serene, just wonderful. I thought the fresh flowers were a sweet detail. Directions given were very precise. I liked that you had a landline for calls.
My stay at this lovely home in the mountains was an experience I shan't soon forget. My friend and I enjoyed every moment including the drive up and back down. Breathtaking vista views with the Pacific on the South and the and the valley to the North. The smell and sounds of the surrounding nature lulled us in our comfortable chambers with every amenity and sundry. Nick was a pleasant fellow and made us feel like welcomed friends. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer.
This was a fantastic experience. I was already familiar with Topanga, but had never stayed somewhere like this - so high up that it's got an ocean view. Truly breathtaking. The guest apartment itself is as comfortable and peaceful as it gets. Nick was an excellent host, very kind and accommodating. All in all, a wonderful stay. I will be back!
A quick glance at other reviews will tell you how amazing this AirBnB is, and my review will only back those up even further. From the location, to the accommodations, to the stocked kitchen, to the kindness of the owner- our trip was wonderful from beginning to end. This was a much needed slice of heaven during our holiday trip to California. I would highly recommend this tranquil getaway to anyone looking to escape the city and get back to nature in a comfortable and gorgeous location. Five stars!!
Enchanting! If you are looking for the ultimate California nature escape, this is the place. Nestled on a ridge overlooking the Pacific on one side and the Santa Monica Mountains on the other, this perfect little artist studio is serene, rustic and breathe-taking. The host, Nick, is charming and helpful. The studio is fully-equipped. In the kitchen there was Ruffino wine, Corona beer, Illy coffee, extra virgin olive oil and loads of kitchen items from Crate & Barrel. Down in the canyon were a host of natural food stores, the amazing Inn of the Seventh Ray, Hidden Treasures and unlimited hiking.
We will definitely come back.
