Felt very welcome, great place to stay and would certainly recommend it. Christine was a great host who made sure you felt at home and the location is good too, close to the bus and the light rail to downtown and the airport too.
The moment I walked into Christine's home I felt at ease. The house is decorated in the most beautiful eclectic objects from all around the world and gives off such a warm vibe. Its close proximity to the university, LRT, and whyte ave makes it an ideal spot for anyone looking to stay and check out what Edmonton has to offer! Although I was busy working most of my stay, I had a chance to visit and get to know Christine and her cat Coco. Both are lovely.
For anyone looking for a quiet, spacious, and safe place to stay, this should be your #1 destination in YEG.
Christine's home provides a great setting for getting to know her and other guests. She shares, and as a result all share - wine, coffee, breakfast, and much more. The photographs accurately represent this warm and colorful house. Great soundproofing, solid bed and cuddly duvet = great sleeps! The neighborhood is pleasant, lots of trees, lovely in summer I'm sure. It's a 12-block walk to Whyte Ave., or a quick bus ride; bus stops two blocks away. In the wintertime, be prepared to walk on main roads to avoid ice and rough sidewalks.
My stay here was perfect. Everything you may require while on your trip is available. The bed is very comfortable. Location is close to the university and the entertainment district (Whyte Ave). Christine is a caring and wonderful host. This will be my booking when I return to Edmonton. You will not be disappointed.
Christine's house was very clean, and in a nice neighborhood close to the University. It takes about 20 minutes to walk from her house to the University. I stayed in a comfortable single bed in the basement. Although she wasn't at home while I was there, she touched base with me several times and made me feel welcome (as did her cat).
As soon as I stepped inside Christine's home, I could feel the warmth & soul, with lots of beautiful artwork to admire when you are at home. The room suited me perfectly needing to study before some exams at the university, as well quiet and private.
The area was perfectly located to the university and to Whyte Ave, as wel as being central to get to other areas of the city.
Hope to return again in the spring.

About the Host, Christine
I am a creative, curious and laid back woman who loves traveling the world, making art, learning languages, cooking ethnic foods, discovering new music, new books, new ideas and meeting new people.
I have a small painting studio in the house and also work with mosaic.
When I travel which is usually 2 to 3 times a year I really want to see it up close and personal. I want to really get a feeling for the place and that is usually found by hanging out and living with the locals. I just came back from Japan where I stayed as an airbnb guest. Now it is my turn to host.
Just around the corner from my house, this little neighborhood cafe/bakery in Parkallen has been around for 20+ years, with a great selection of organic, wholegrain, baked goods.6519 111 St NW Edmonton AB T6H 4R5
