Our cool apartment is fresh clean, and has a peaceful feel. It has 2 bedrooms, and sleeps 4 plus floor : ). This is a quiet neighborhood, and is near ASU, Mill Ave, Sky Harbor, golf, and spring training baseball stadiums. Ask for long term rates!
This is a 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment in a quiet residential neighborhood. Each bedroom has a queen bed. The bathroom has a nice tile shower stall. Use the kitchen to cook and relax watching movies on the 44" HDTV.
If you are wanting to book January or February stays please contact me. I have the rates high for Superbowl weekend, but if you are looking to stay the whole month we can negotiate around those days.
You will have the whole apartment all to yourself.

I own a triplex, and live in one unit. This apartment is one of the other two units. I will be available for any help you need at any time. Don't hesitate to call, text, or knock on the door during your stay. : )
I love how quiet and well taken care of this neighborhood is. Most of my neighbors own the homes they live in, so they take better care of the neighborhood than renters. Also, there is a park in the neighborhood that I like to walk to. Fry's supermarket is half a mile away, as well as some decent bars and restaurants at Mill Ave and Southern.
If you don't have a car use Lyft! Lyft is a ride-sharing app on your phone. Just download the app, request a Lyft, and a friendly driver will pick you up in just a few minutes. Use a promo code to get $25 in free credit (3 short Tempe rides or 1 longer ride to Scottsdale or Phoenix).
Please treat my home like you would treat your home. I'm just a normal guy trying to keep up.
Denny was very helpful and provided us with lots of suggestions for things to do
My friends and I had a very enjoyable stay at the apartment. It was very easy to get there (and we came from LA) and I loved our little private entrance. Both rooms were a good size, we had more than enough space in the living room, and it was pretty cozy. The location was great, we enjoyed some good local spots, and Denny was very helpful when we came across some minor problems. I think the only things I should have done was to ask about the shower (the shower head wasn't so great) and to make more time to hit up local spots that sounded so good! Next time, I'll definitely try to see 4 Peaks Brewery and Cartel Coffee. I think what makes this listing and Airbnb so amazing is the freedom of coming and going as we please, and having most of the amenities as a house does. Much better than a hotel! I definitely recommend this listing and if I'm ever around Tempe again, it'd be great to stay here. Thanks Denny and April! :)
April came over to say hi once we arrived. She was very friendly and offered some suggestions of things to see & do in Tempe. Their home is a slightly older home in a nice newer neighborhood. It's also less than a mile from an REI.
The biggest cons were communicated with Denny & April at the end of the stay, and they received it well and said they are checking into the small things. Had we communicated it earlier, I think they would've been addressed while we were there. The two small things were a lack of hot water & shower head, and the bathroom door did not completely shut which made the bathroom a bit of an adventure about the four of us.
They also left some staples in the pantry & fridge for us plus an iron and ironing board we used!
For our particular stay, the property was conveniently located near ASU. The unit provided basic accommodations and was neat and clean. The orange tree was in bloom and the aroma was fabulous.
We stayed here during 3 days, the end of February, 2015. This was by far the worst experience with Airbnb.
First of all, the appartment had not been cleaned at all. Actually it was very filthy and dusty. We asked Denny to clean some of the worst things during our absence, but after that we didn't see any difference. We spent 2 hours on cleaning the appartment by ourselves. Can you believe this? It's really true.
We sent Airbnb some pictures and they decided to refund us immediately the cleaning costs.
But this isn't all.
The television didn't work and Denny refused to come and solve the problem.
The kitchen air exhaust didn't work, but Denny didn't do anything.
Internet didn't work during several hours.
The second day there was a major waste water problem. The bathroom flooded. This was the only problem that has been solved after a few hours, maybe because it also affected the owners.
There was no shampoo, although it was mentionned on the website.
The building quality and maintenance is poor. I was hit by a piece of wood from the doorway that came down when I shut the bathroom door.
There is very little kitchen equipment, like pots, knifes, linen, silverwork, glasses etc. Don't expect te be able to prepare a normal meal here.
The outside light didn't work.
It was very hard to get in contact with the owner, Denny. The given phonenumber appeared to be not correct and when we got the right phonenumber, he never answered his phone. Knocking the frontdoor didn't help either; sometimes I got my e-mails replied.
Only once I met April, his wife, but she said she was not reponsible anymore for the rental appartment. That's contrary to their presentation on the website. Anyway, she didn't do anything for us.
I can't understand that other reviews were positive. Actually I chose this accommodation because of the reviews. I could not have been more wrong in this decision. My advice: stay away from this not cute and and not clean appartment.
Jan's a liar and I've never had such a bad experience with a guest. He seemed to have a bad attitude getting out of the car, and it never left. The internet and plumbing did have problems that weekend, which I took care of as fast I could. I had a plumber come take care of the back up. The internet was a problem with the ISP (COX), and not a normal problem. I pay extra for I've had many people stay that worked from home at my place for weeks without a problem. We had a thunderstorm that weekend that probably was affecting the ISP.
The place had been cleaned to the normal standard (fresh sheets/pillow cases, sweep, take out trash, wipe counters/table top/sinks/shower, clean toilet) which wasn't good enough. When he complained about it a few minutes after arriving I came over and cleaned what he asked about.
There is a chef knife, cutting board, 1 frying pan, butter knives, forks, spoons, plates, glasses, mugs, and bowls for 4 people in a place that sleeps 4 people. If you need to do some special gourmet recipe you might have to buy some supplies. I've stayed in vacation rentals with less. I supply what is needed for basic normal meals, so I would say don't expect to prepare a gourmet meal, but I have frequently seen my guests cooking normal meals.
The TV has worked just fine with guests since Jan left, I think Jan must be too dumb to figure it out.
He called 5+ times a day for each of his 3 day stay. I always tell guests to call or text and I'll get back to them as soon as I can. I've never had a more difficult and whiny guest. This is not a hotel. If you need 24/7 service this is not the right place. I also work and have a life to live of my own. I do my best to take care of my apartments and the people that visit. Jan should not have been staying in a budget priced basic rental when he obviously was looking for a lot more.
I've loved the interesting people I've met over the last couple years hosting. I've had great experiences and have tried to provide a good service. If you're looking for a luxury rental, this is not it, and plan on spending a lot more. But if you need a clean basic place with basic kitchen supplies, a fridge, oven, stove, and microwave, as well as a couple beds - my apartments fit this description.
I never spoke with nor met Denny or April throughout my registration or during my entire stay, rather, it was a series of text messages. They seem pretty hands off - they left the door "unlocked" with the key inside for me when I arrived. Ok, with me, but kind of surprising given the previous reviews.
It would have been nice to have some shampoo and hand soap, instead there were just multiple bottles of conditioner. The TV didn't work and the Internet access was pretty much useless because it was so slow. The neighborhood isn't anything to write home about either. You're in walking distance to an old strip mile approximately 1/2 mile away. You can walk to the Yucca tap room for some micro brews, otherwise, it's pretty much a car community.
Overall, this place worked great for me because I'm a minimalist and really don't mind where I stay. I always try to make the best of it and this was no exception. I would probably not recommend this place for most folks though.
The space is exactly as described: cute and clean. The location is incredibly convenient to everything (literally less than 10 minutes to everything I wanted to get to).
Denny and April are lovely and helpful hosts, swiftly answering all questions :)

We are a husband and wife team. We love God, people and travel. Thank you for taking the time to look at our cozy place; stick around and check it out. We hope to meet you soon!
I call Red Bud, IL and Tempe, AZ home, and am a recent grad from ASU. My wife and I taught English for a year in China. I currently work for Yelp. We are saving up airline miles and cash for an round-the-world trip in 2016. China has been awesome, and we can't wait to see more of the world!
I love GREAT coffee, beer, and food. I love experimenting and building things. I built a coffee roaster, roast my own coffee, brew beer, and plan to build a moonshine still soon (don't tell the feds : )). Someday I'm going to get into wine, cured meats, and cheese, but I'm not there yet.
I might die without my iPhone and good coffee. Seriously.
I specialize in wedding, couple and family photography. I would love to capture your season, let me know if your interested in a session while you are visiting AZ.
My interest in photography began with my first film camera when I was 7 years old. I used a whole roll of film on an exotic chipmunk at Yellowstone.
Creating and appreciating the beauties in ordinary days of life is a simple pleasure of mine. Since getting a DSLR, I have been teaching myself photography and love studying culture through experience. I love hearing and witnessing the love stories God has written for couples and my hope is for others to enjoy my photos and see that which could be easily overlooked in the swift passing of time.
Souls are changed when they see the story a good photographer captures and it is my heart’s desire is to tell vivid personal stories through my lens, while sharing love and truth with the subject of my art. I grew as a photographer the year I captured over 10,000 portraits in China, Southeast Asia, and America. I live with my husband and 100 lb. German Shepherd, love good coffee, Paleo, and enjoy Crossfit.
Eventually we will fill our house with awesome handmade, modern, and unique furniture, but it takes time and is hard to do as a world traveler. One piece at a time builds a collection!
Our mission in life: love people, and help them love the loving God that has loved me into a new creation.
