Where you’ll be

Marloth Park, Mpumalanga, South Africa

Marloth Park is a nature conservancy with its own population of harmless plains game such as zebra, kudu, giraffe, wildebeest, warthogs, and a great variety of bird life. It is separated from Kruger National Park by an electrified fence meant to keep out the more dangerous animals but PLEASE NOTE lion and leopard have occasionally been reported in Marloth. DO NOT walk around after nightfall. Marloth Park consists of some small guest lodges, but is mostly private vacation homes. There is a bush center with liquor store, grocery store, post office, hardware store, butcher, pub, etc. Komatipoort town is only a 20 minute drive away and has many more shops and restaurants.

I'm Canadian, but have lived in Hong Kong, Switzerland, and LA and DC in the USA. I own places in California, West Virginia, South Africa and Sarasota, FL, where I live with my wonderful daughter. I've always had the travel bug, and I've worked for both National Geographic and Discovery Communications. Having been to over 50 countries, we've rented many private homes over the years. I prefer the variety and the personalized experience of private homes over hotels. The most exciting travel destination for me? Any place I haven't been before!!! :-)
