Our place is situated in a very quiet, hidden away and peaceful location. It is tucked into a scenic woodland well off the beaten track where we welcome you into our family home.
We are a family with a working organic farm and try our best to live a sustainable life using solar panels, wood burning stoves, growing our own food in in a large polytunnel and in outside gardens. We also harvest and blend our own herbal teas - come and try!
We want to welcome you to the place we love and invite you to just relax, wind down and feel comfortable.
Our guest's will have access to our farm with places to just sit and relax and to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. In the morning we will serve you a continental breakfast. We provide evening meals on request and you can always relax in our shared living area from where you can overlook the ever changing light on Aghla mountain, or get yourself a book from our library. We can also give you the lend of our bikes.
Interaction with guests
We will always welcome you with a warm Irish welcome and with freshly homemade bread and tea (or coffee). We love having guests and often share the evening meal with them, sometimes music and board games and simply welcome you into a friendly family atmosphere. We can teach you to bake homemade bread or to make homemade wine. But we also respect your privacy if you wish.
We can recommend you walks, places to see, where to go for a good session, and help you along if you have any questions or requests.
If you like to walk and explore we provide you with maps and routes and a compass.
We live about 5km outside the next small village of Fintown and are linked via a mountainous back-road to the picturesque town of Glenties (half an hour drive). We are surrounded by forests, lakes, streams and rivers on the foot of Aghla mountain. We are located right beside a waymarked walking way called "The Gaeltacht/Sli na Finne Way", which makes it a great place for walking and exploring. About half an hours drive from us we have several stunning beaches. The highest cliffs of Europe are nearby as well as Glenveagh National Park.
This is also an area well renowned for traditional music. Some famous fiddlers are living nearby and you will find regular traditional music sessions especially in the Glenties area.
There are bus connections from Glenties to the main village of Fintown as well as from Letterkenny to Fintown. If you don't have a car we can give you a lift on arrival from Fintown to our place (which would be a 2 hours walk) and of course on return.
If you have a sat-navigation system in your car we can give you the exact GPS coordinates to find us.

Hello, we are a family of 4: Declan + Marion with our two children.
We loved our first experiences as Airbnb hosts with our B&B. We met so many wonderful people and it as was a joy and pleasure to invite each one of them to our home, to get to know them and to make them feel welcome. That's what we want to continue to do.
With our first listing (Relax in the hills of Donegal) closed we now offer the following exciting listings: Our "Wonderly Wagon", a lovingly restored original bow-top gypsy caravan and our newly finished Meadowsweet Hill Lodge where you can either choose to book one of the three private rooms or the whole Lodge. We put all our passion into the self-build Lodge connected to our dream to own one day Ireland's smallest hostel. But it had to be so much more than a hostel where people meet and get together, it had to be something special and extra cosy! See for yourself!
We have often volunteers from all corners of the world staying with us in our home to help with different projects and in the garden. Our very next project will be to restore an old fishing boat into an accommodation with the theme of a pirate ship!
We all love and often play Irish traditional music together. I love and write poetry (one book published in Germany), I'm also a herbalist and a very keen gardener producing herbal tea's. Declan and I visited this area some years ago and fell straight in love with the nature, culture and people here. And now we simply want to share this beautiful experience with you!
