Interaction with Guests
We usually give guests plenty of privacy but we love it when we get to know our guests, too. It all depends!
Lefferts Garden is Brooklyn’s best kept secret! Up and coming, safe, diverse neighborhood; interesting blend of artists/musicians, young professionals with family friendly Caribbean community. It gives you a taste of real NY. Our main attraction is the Prospect Park (Make sure to check out the farmer’s market every Saturday). The apartment building is right in front of the park. It is perfect for morning runners and strollers! We are also very close to the lake side and the boat house (Ice Skating Rink just opened if you are visiting during the winter months.) Brooklyn Museum, Botanical Gardens, Prospect Park Zoo and Brooklyn Public Library are all within walking distance. Walk one block towards Flatbush Ave, you will find everything you need from grocery stores, drugstores, laundromat, liquor shops, restaurants, bars and cafes!
Easy access to Manhattan. Our apartment is only a block away (less than 1min walk) from the metro line ( Q, B, S. 15-20min to Downtown, 30min to Times Square.) Or stay local, just 5 minute Subway ride to Barclay Center, Park Slope, and downtown Brooklyn. Williamsburg / Greenpoint? No problem! B41 & B43 Buses leave right around the corner! You can simply take the Q train to the last stop, it will take you to the famous Coney Island in 20min. If you drive, finding a parking is surprisingly easy. A gas station is a few block away on Flatbush Ave.
Other Things to Note

Staying here was a very nice experience. Exactly like it was advertised. Clean, quiet, beautiful. Iko was unable to be there when we arrived, but she made sure there was someone to look after us. If you're looking for a convenient and inexpensive place to lay your head when in NYC, this is a great fit. The common area is small though, so I wouldn't recommend it if you want to stay in the place a lot.
Iko was in Japan during our trip but her partner Anibal was here to give us the keys and explain everything. He was very friendly and available when we had few questions. The room was exactly like we could imagine with the pics and very clean. Excellent localization with a beautiful park ( Prospect Park ) and the botanic garden. Just 1 block and 3 mins walking for the subway. Obviously we recommend this place. Thank you Anibal and Iko. Best. Michael and Laura
Iko takes Airbnb hosting to the next level! Our room was immaculately presented, and a cute insider's pamphlet written by Iko herself helped give us some great ideas about what was going on in the local area.
The apartment itself is nicely decorated and clean, with a few charming quirks as to be expected in a Brooklyn building with heritage! If you want to spend a meal or two in there are ample facilities for cooking and dining.
It's really conveniently located for the subway, and Prospect Park will definitely draw you in, being just across the way.
Brooklyn as an area doesn't live up to its often portrayed rep of being a dangerous area - we walked back home after dark every night of our stay with no issues at all, so don't let that be something that might put you off staying at Iko's lovely place.
Such a reasonable price for such a lovely experience with a wonderful host - thanks Iko!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Iko. Although we didn't meet her on this trip as she was out of town, our check in, stay and check out were smooth and she and her partner checked in on us via text and phone to make sure we had everything we needed. The place was clean and pleasant, and just one block away from the subway and Prospect Park. We'll be returning to NYC a few times this year, and we'll definitely be checking into see if Iko's place is available. As cliche as it sounds, it felt like home away from home.
Iko is a lovely and very welcoming person. We felt very comfortable in her cozy appartment, which she furnished with much passion for detail. Iko gave us recommendations for nice bars and locations for breakfast. In the neighbourhood you can find everything you need.
We definitely would stay there again.
Iko's apartment is so great! It's super close to the metro, good restaurants, and right across the street from Prospect Park. Iko's really nice and leaves guides / personal recommendations for where to eat and what to visit. I'd definitely want to stay here again.
Me and my Girlfriend had a perfect stay at Ikos Appartment. It is very charming, perfectly clean and well located in a street across the Prospect Park. Iko was a perfect host and gave us very good tipps for restaurants and cafés and a nice jazz-bar. We stayed their one week and didn't wanted to leave after it afterwards!! :-) We recommend her place and looking forward to come back some time!
