Silvermines is a quaint little town nestled in a rural area of south-central Ireland, near Negnah. My sister and I stayed with Paul and Karyn in Forge II and couldn't have been happier. The view from the master bedroom is breathtaking and everything you could ever need is there waiting for you. It's quiet, It's homey, and has 2 bedrooms to give two sisters a little needed alone time. The rain showerheads in the guest bathrooms were phenominal. I've never used one before, but it's a luxury everyone should experience. The beds, also, were extremely comfortable and I really loved the MCM desk in the master bedroom. If you are looking for an historic, comfortable home-away-from-home, with a completely stocked kitchen, dishwasher, refrig, laundry facilities and more, I whole-heartedly recommend staying here. As soon as we can, we'll be back to stay for a longer visit!!

My sister and two friends and I stayed at Forge I in August. We had a wonderful experience from the moment we booked with Paul. The communication was great from the start, through the entire stay and after. Our check-in was very easy with Karin meeting us late in the eveining when we finally made it and showing us around and giving us great information about local activities. The cottage itself was perfectly described and was even more beautiful with an amazing setting in silvermines, an old village on a hillside located less than 10 minutes away from Nenagh. A city with everything you need! The pub across the street from the cottage was very welcoming and inviting. Tom, the owner, couldn't of been nicer and shared many stories with us along with a few other locals. We kept him open until 3:00 am one night! I cannot recommend Paul's place more. One of the best places I've ever stayed in Europe! Hope to go back one day.

We stayed in Old Forge II and had a lovely stay. Paul was in contact regularly and the accommodations were terrific. The area is very quiet and the ambience is what I would term luxurious rustic. The beds were extremely comfortable and a good night's rest is guaranteed. It was quite cool but with a nice fire going it was cozy. I would most definitely return and highly recommend staying in either of Paul's cottages.

Beautiful property! Very intimate experience in the small town of Silvermines. Excellent location to explore the west coast. Paul was very communicative. We had a little trouble locating the property, but Tommy, the bartender in the Main Street pub, knew Paul and the property immediately. It turns out it's right across the street from the pub! There is also a very convenient small market just a few doors down. The small town experience was wonderful.

We had an amazing time in Silvermines staying at this house. Paul wasn't there as he was out of country, but we did get to meet Karin and she was very helpful. The place was gorgeous. As pretty as the photos showed it to be. Very clean and had plenty of space for us. Silvermines is tiny, but very close to Nenagh so you can get food to make or do dinner there. One thing we all really enjoyed was that there was a bar right across the street and it was so much fun to chat with the bartender there who knew so much about Ireland and was so friendly to talk with. Silvermines is really centrally located so it was easy for us to do day trips to places. The only thing that was unexpected was that we had to pay for the electricity at the end. We didn't know that was custom or needed, although it wasn't very much. We had a very lovely time though and if we can go back we definitely would stay at this place again. Thank you!

Sociable, creative, and passionate about period properties, having restored many, including The Silvermines accommodation. I have lived in different countries, and enjoy meeting new people. I like being outdoors, and am happy to inform and show guests the outdoor activities available to them in this local area, in the County of Tipperary.
