UPDATE!!! I took the listing off this site for several months to do some renovation work on the property. Given the unfortunate incident experienced by one of our guests last year, we took measures to ensure that it doesn't happen again. We've significantly raised the fence at the back of the property and added razor wires to ward off potential robbers. We've installed door sensors in all the doors going outside. Security in the subdivision has also been beefed up. Of course, as with traveling anywhere else in the world, we should always be careful of all our belongings.

The house was beautiful and Donna made sure that the housekeepers were made aware of our pending arrival. They were also available to call taxis and always cleaned away our breakfast dishes especially when we were rushing to leave for the day's excursions.
The views are breathtaking, and the house is very well kept and looks just like the pictures.
My only two concerns were the fact that the water pressure for the showers was low, and there is no warm water (though, it's the Philippines, so cold is not very cold).
Taxis were also very difficult to come by sometimes, as they would refuse to come up the mountain, and want a surcharge for the travel.
Otherwise, I had a wonderful stay and would certainly recommend the place to friends.
Although the Mediterranean house was very nice, Donna and/or AirBnB failed to disclose to me about the history of the place having been previously burglarized and that a good number of homes inside this gated community have likewise been burglarized. I rented this place to house my son's family (wife and two children) and 1 guest (the sister of my daughter in-law) for a 3-day trip to join me in Cebu City, Philippines.
A couple of patio doors were left unlocked by the house caretaker (per her admission) and my guest ended up being burglarized. There was no visible sign of any forced entry. My guest, who stayed in the lower level room lost $3,000, an I-phone and a high-end Cannon camera! Had we been informed of these previous burglaries, I could have posted guards during their short stay and my guest could have been more vigilant and taken extra precaution to lock doors and not leave valuable stuff around.
The burglary may have happened early morning while my guest were having an early breakfast on the upper floor. The housekeeper admitted that during this time she went down to open the lower level patio door "to air the lower level" and though she closed the patio glass door, "I (she) did not lock it". We reported the burglary to the police authorities but do not have any hope that the culprit(s) will be caught. Needless to say, it was a very bad experience for me and my guests and it ruined our vacation trip. I take issue on the lack of disclosure regarding prior history of burglary on the subject rental property and homes in the immediate vicinity by the Host or Airbnb.
We couldn’t not be happier with our choice. My brother and I were there for two nights while on a production scouting trip.
This is a beautiful home with two rooms upstairs and downstairs and a cool entertainment center on the lower level. Donna was an amazing hostess. From communications to towels and DVD movies, Donna left no detail out.
The housekeeping staff was helpful and friendly, offering to aid us with cab calls and details on how to get to some of the ferry rides to visit the outer islands (only a $250p cab ride to the town in the low land areas (15 minutes). We had breakfast lunch and dinner prepared, giving us time to order our days and nights and shared a ton of laughs along the way.
Its was such a quiet and serene place with lovely morning sun rays cascading along the rolling hills in the distance. The coolest thing was that some of the neighbors would shoot off fireworks over the adjacent hill in the evening. Our own private show!
In all, this was a great two-night stay and a first class property with an attentive staff. Many thanks to Donna for creating such a lovely home away from home
We were a group of four couples and stayed at the Mediterranean house for 3 days and 2 nights and it's a perfect house. The house is beautiful just like you see in the pictures and great scenery on top of the mountain. We were greeted by the housekeepers and immediately made us feel at home by preparing our dinner since we arrived late that evening and we were all hungry. The host Donna is great, even we didn't meet she's always in contact by phone to make sure we are good during our stay. Our group had a wonderful time and feel that we stayed in a 5 star hotel or better. The house has plenty of room for eight people, great decor, furnishings and the two housekeepers are great cooks, accomodating and excellent service. We definetly recommend this house to our friends and everyone and we are looking forward to stay here again in the very near future.
We had a great stay at this house. Everything you need is in the house and there is so much room! The view was awesome and the housekeepers took really good care of us. We will defiantly stay here again! Thanks again Donna for everything we can't wait to come back again!
It's nice to explore the world not as a tourist but as a local. This is always my goal when I travel. There are things that one can only experience when "living" in a place.
Renting our place in the mountains of Busay will give you just that. Smell the fresh mountain breeze in the morning, listen to the birds chirping, read a book, relax. Should you need to get to the city, it's just a 10-15 minute drive down. I'd say it's just a right mix of being far and near.
