About this listing
The Williams House is a Victorian home from the 1880s. It sleeps 16 guests in beds, 11 individually.
Located in the heart of historic downtown at 303 A north Main street, right behind the Gondola.
Building a frame house in Breckenridge before the arrival of the railroad was no small task. To erect this c.1881 house and the one next door (301 N. Main),Breckenridge saloonkeeper Joseph F. Reeder had to chop down trees, drag them to the sawmill, have them milled for different uses—siding, flooring, shingles, etc.—and let them dry. Inflating the cost of construction was the need to pack finished building materials—nails, paint, and doors— over a high mountain pass at a cost of forty cents per pound.
In 1888, John Williams, a hardrock miner, and his wife, Minta, purchased the house as their home. After John and Minta’s separation in 1890, Minta and their daughter, Ethel, continued to live here until 1906, renting it out from time to time as they pursued an acting career for

Recommend! This place is twice as big as it looks. We particularly liked each bedroom having a private full bath and two sitting/living areas. Kitchen is very well appointed; outside gas grill could be bigger, though.
Thijs was very responsive to our many inquiries and had a friendly and welcoming attitude. Since Thijs does not live in Breckenridge we had a local person, Amanda, to call on who was also quick to respond. The location was great! Being right in downtown made it easy to go shop browsing, fix a tire at the bike shop a couple doors down, or just got out for an ice-cream. The house was spacious, historic style, yet with a modern kitchen, lot's of bedrooms and bathrooms and did I mention the location;-).?
This was one of the top Airbnb experiences I've had. The house was amazing, very spacious and all of our guests commented on it. We're already brainstorming our next trip back. A few very minor questions came up and the caretaker replied back immediately. We couldn't have asked for a better location, right on Main Street so we could walk to the restaurants and bars. Never moved our cars once we got there. Thanks again!
Oh and we highly recommend doing the Breckenridge Bike Bar and eating at Canteen.
We had a wonderful time in Breckenridge at Thijs' place! The Williams House was even better then it looked in the pictures. I was amazed by how much space and how many bathrooms this lovely home had. We had 12 people and never had one "waiting to take a shower" moment... which really came in handy with everyone getting ready at the same time.
The location is ideal. Walking distance to everything on Breckenridge's Main Street. If / When I return to Breckenridge, I will certainly be looking to book this place again!
The house was absolutely fantastic and perfect for our group. It does not look very big from the outside, but it is huge inside, with a beautiful kitchen, tons of great bedrooms with their own bathrooms, and an amazing central location in town. There is also plenty of parking, which is a rarity in Breckenridge. The bathrooms were well stocked with clean towels and fresh soap and shampoo, which can be a rarity with AirBnB places. The kitchen was nice and open and well stocked with all the necessary tools and utensils as well. I would definitely recommend this place to a big group in either winter or summer.
The stay at the house was excellent. Access to the house was easy, and the location is ideal - very close to the gondola and restaurants/bars.
Wow!! I spent my birthday weekend at the Williams House and what a great house for a large group of people. The location was fantastic, too, especially if you ski or board. The house was beyond my expectations. The hot tub was fantastic and the mud room up front made it easy to store skis, boards and equipment. Thijs was communicative with me from the beginning and Amanda who cares for the house in Breck worked with me when my car wouldn't start the day we were supposed to check out. We would have had no where to go so very appreciative of that. Overall, fantastic place and I am looking for a reason to get a large group of people together again!
