Other things to note

Transportation from the airport or any point in Bali to La Kubu is available upon request.

For those who are driving from Denpasar, take the road going to Ubud and up to Kintamani. Where the road branches into two -- one for Kubutambahan and one for Madenan/Tejakula follow the road to Madenan/Tejakula until you reach the coastal road in Bondalem. Take a right turn heading to Amlapura. You will pass the village of Tejakula. Les comes next. The bridge separating it from Tejakula has road signs "DESA LES" and 'WATERFALLS". Take a left turn on the 3rd street to your left from the bridge. The corner of this street has a large red signboard with "SEA COMMUNITIES" and several arrows. Follow this local road until you see a small store to the left. La Kubu is beside this small store. You can reach us by mobile phone for further directions.

I was sick whilst i stayed here, so i did not get to enjoy the good things about Tedjakula. However, the shower at La Kubu was quite dirty.

The place is very cosy, nested in the jungle, 5 minutes walk to the beach. the garden of the hotel was a restful and quiet place. Our host lent us two bikes, which were useful to explore the surroundings. However the breakfast was a bit too light.

Easy access to the beach, only a short walking distance. The neighborhood is quiet and people are very friendly. I appreciated all the help and quick response from Mr. Made in finding me a motorbike, transport and laundry services. The villa Pendopo is new and met all of my needs.

This place is amazing! Me and my boyfriend spent a coupe of nights at La Kubu and were sad that we didn't book more nights here. We booked a total of 5 AirBnbs for our 3 weeks stay on Balibut this was one of our favorites! The room was very spacious, the cleanest we had, no bugs (which is usually not the case), the garden area is stunning, there is a lounge outside which is so comfortable and cozy and relaxing. The hosts were probably the nicest we had. Always friendly, ready to help and available. There were one or two misunderstandings due to the communication but overall communication was very easy. The breakfast was delicious as well! The host Made was very helpful giving us advice on places to see and things to do. He even invited us to a family event/ceremony which we didn't attend because we had different plans but there was another couple at the AirBnb that went and they had a blast. Overall we only have good things to say about Made and the place! We would 100% recommend going, especially if you like snorkeling! There are beautiful reefs right around the corner. We consider booking this place again when we visit Bali again.

The villa was really nice and we had a great time here! It was clean and comfortable and offered us everything we needed while there. The little compound it is in is also very beautifully made and it's in a really quiet location, but close to the ocean. Our host was extremely nice and helped us plan the trip for our next day, and even organized the ferry tickets for us and then drove us there himself the next morning! He was very kind and helpful. Thank you so much!!

Staying at Les Village was a wonderful experience. The people were warm, welcoming and friendly. Everyone was keen to chat or say hello. As other reviews have indicated there are limited seated eating options however the food that was available was lovely. We highly recommend renting a motorbike to make the stay easier and do some exploring. La Kubu arranged that with ease and affordability. The waterfall is spectacular with a really nice walk to the fall. La Kubu is really clean, well maintained and quiet. The electricity in our room would occasionally short out however the air con was a welcome retreat from the humidity and extreme heat in the villa. Jaroo and Ibu were on site at La Kubu each day and they were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed sharing our time with them and the other guests at La Kubu. We had a cooking class which was fun and we were able to share laughs. A genuine effort was made to ensure our stay was interesting. There is not many activities in the village so we would not recommend this for people who need constant entertainment. Made arranged our transport to and from the village and personally transported us to the airport introducing us warmly to his family on the way. Although Made was in Denpasar for our stay there were local villagers who would happily guide you to temples or caves or waterfalls if you interact with them. We met a lot of local people at Segara Lestari hotel which is down the road on the beach with diving. Made at Segara was also happy to arrange delicious dinners at the oceanfront as a change to the La Kubu. Les village is a different experience to most of Bali with a genuine feel. This village is untouristy and felt extremely safe. The people were so lovely and happy to engage and we would recommend if this is the experience you are after.
