You'll never want to leave this modern Hawaiian styled 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo. We have everything you’ll need and want for the most relaxing stay of your island vacation and only steps away from food, drinks, the pool and the beach. Whale watch from the lana'i in the winter, or snorkel our beautiful Hideaways beach in the summer.

We designed surfshack with that slow Island pace in mind, a place to unplug, relax, and unwind. Our hope is that you enjoy every part of your stay; from brewing some local coffee in the morning {which we happily provide},
to a mixed cocktail in the evening, sitting on the lanai taking in the beautiful sunset as it dips into the Pacific Ocean.
There is a restaurant on property, a paved trail down to our own private Hideaways snorkeling beach, a swimming pool and hot tub. We are also within walking distance to the new 1 Hotel's public beach, a half mile from the Makai Golf Course, and a few minutes drive down to historic Hanalei Town and Hanalei bay. A 10 minute drive in the opposite direction will lead you to beautiful calm Anini beach.
We open up Reservations 9 months in advance from today. Any dates further out are blocked.
There are two bedrooms with two en suite bathrooms in the home, and works well for a group of friends, two couples, small families with older children, and HONEYMOONERS!
Please note, we are not set up for littles ones, as much as we love small children, our home is best for those over the age of 10.
Our home is clean, warm and inviting. We provide you with local amenities like Mālie Organics shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Air Conditioning in the upstairs primary bedroom. A fully stocked kitchen offers you the opportunity to cook, and extra freebies like beach chairs, body boards, umbrellas, beach towels, and a cooler to ensure you're all set for a day in the sand. The closets are stocked with extra towels, blankets and pillows. Roku tv’s to stream all your favorite channels in both bedrooms and the living room, Wifi, and charging ports for your devices in each room. Mix of current, mid century modern, and unique vintage furnishings that exude Hawaii at it's finest.
As your hosts, we live on island and just down the road. Our whole family lives and works within the community, we call Kaua'i home.
You don’t have to deal with a property manager or owners that don’t live on island.
We have a 7 night max in order to accommodate guests that would love a stay at the Surfshack. We highly suggest splitting your stay between the Northshore and the Southshore if planning on longer than a week stay.
Mandatory Kauai County accomadation tax has increased and is now 17.96%

You have access to the whole condo, a key to the pool and hot tub.

Other things to note
~*Our cancellation policy is “strict” so please read it carefully. It’s always a great idea to add the Travel Insurance in case something comes up last minute.

~ Please note this is a split level condo. If stairs are an issue then this condo might not be suitable.

~There is A/C in the upstairs primary bedroom only~
but keep in mind that we have trade winds, ocean breezes, and plenty of oscillating fans. Summer in the late afternoons can be very warm~ It is Hawaii after all ;) We are also the wettest island in the Hawaiian chain~ we get a lot of rain but that's what makes those beautiful waterfalls.
~ Please be Mindful of Check-In & Check-Out Times. Early Arrival & Late Departure are NOT Possible, so if you know you have a late flight home you might want to consider booking one more night so you have access to the space for the entire day.
~We are really cautious about the noise levels as we want to be respectful to our surrounding neighbors.
~ Please be respectful of the quiet hours from 10pm-7 am and remember that people live below you. Voices carry when sitting on the lanai so be conscientious of your noise level.
~Gecko's live both indoors and out, they are harmless. The wild chickens roaming the island are harmless as well but do tend to let you know at all hours of the night that they are indeed residents of our island as well. And yes.... on occasion the ugly elusive cockroach will make an appearance.... because it's Hawaii that's why.
~Please be energy conscious and turn off lights when out of the home as we want to be good to our planet.

~The trail down to our private Hideaways beach is somewhat steep, even though it's a paved sidewalk all the way down, be aware that it's easy going down but might be difficult to manage coming up if you aren't used to some good ole uphill climbing. Just a word of caution, but it is by far one of the most amazing snorkeling beaches on the north shore during the calm non winter months.
