I'm a retired college English professor; I speak a little Spanish, Italian & French. You will have a small (approx. 8 x 11 ft) sunny private bedroom with two big south facing windows with city view (best for one person.) Very bright during the day, but has room-darkening shades for good sleep. Wifi internet, easy all day street parking. Bus at corner goes to beach, zoo, shopping mall; bus a block away goes to the city center. You can also walk to Glen Park BART subway in about 15 minutes (10 minute ride to city center, 30 to airport). Close to Cortland Avenue, the business street for my neighborhood. There you will find a library, gift shops, yoga studio, bank, coffee shops, bars, restaurants (Italian, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Mexican, etc). I hosted international students for twenty years, so if you are new to San Francisco I can give you information & tips on where to go & what to see.
Feel free to use the living room & the dining room. Share renovated bathroom with me.

Small, friendly neighborhood with nearby Flea Market on Sundays & Farmer's Market on Saturdays. Great organic grocery store with take-out deli. Lucky Horseshoe bar has live music several days a week. Rent an electric bike for 24 hours--$85. Have a pastry and coffee in the courtyard of Bernal Star Cafe. Climb to the top of Bernal Hill for a fantastic view of the city. Check out my Guidebook for more information.
#23 bus stops at my house, goes to zoo, beach or Glen Park BART station to connect with airport. #14 Mission bus runs 24 hours, goes downtown and back again. #24 bus goes to Castro and Pacific Heights. #49 bus goes to Fisherman's Wharf. Free street parking is easy during the day; after 6 pm you may have to park a couple of blocks away (try Agnon Street or Holly Park.)
No smoking inside the house. No pets; no drugs; no overnight visitors. No eating meals in your room; please use dining room. If you wear perfume, please put it on as you leave the house.
It was very beautifully decorated house. Our room was the smallest one in her house. It was quite small but she already mentioned so it was not disappointing issue and it was not bad to stay by two girls. I was not well once and Rita helped us kindly. It was very nice of her. Her house location was easy to go around and neighbourhood is beautiful and the view from house is really nice. Room was clean and bathroom too. There was no problem sharing bathroom with her. I would not mind to stay there again if I go to SF again.
The room was as described and it took quite a while to get in to town (roughly 45 mins on the bus). On reflection, this was probably a little too far out of town. On arrival we didn't have the friendliest welcome and Rita wasn't the helpful host that is full of tips that we've come to expect from Airbnb. The room seemed a little dusty and had set off my asthma/allergies.
14R bus takes 25 minutes to downtown. Rob arrived 3 hours earlier than he told me he would & I had to interrupt some business to come back home and check them in. I was never asked any question about where to go. Rob and Hannah both use a ton of chemicals (scent) so I had to open all the windows.
We stayed at Rita for 3 days. The bus stop was nuaerby, but it takes 45 minutes to downtown. The room was very small, but just for sleeping ok.
Ritas home is nearby of bus stop, but it takes too much time to arrive in the downtown city! Sometimes more than 40min. Maybe the home is much better if you have a car in SFO.
The bedroom is very small for 2 people and should be cleaner as the all home also.
Great historic home. Rita is very nice and accommodating.
We enjoyed our stay with Rita. Her home is in a pretty good location for restaurants and parks. In traffic it takes about 30 minutes to get to the north side of San Fran. The home was clean and quiet. The bathroom is very nice, and sharing was not an issue at all.
We had a little trouble parking as its all street parking and there was construction on the street that week. Also this room is at the very front of the house, so you get a decent amount of street noise, but we had to keep windows open since there was no AC and no ceiling fan.
Overall we had an enjoyable stay with Rita.
We really enjoyed our stay at Rita's place. She was very friendly and helpful. Her house is clean and nicely decorated. It is close to Mission Street and there are buses nearby going Downtown.
