We are respectful, and would expect the same from our guests. We have a small rescue dog (Brussels Griffon) who is very friendly, and two cats. Smoking is allowed outside.
This is the 2nd time I have stayed here. It is a great bargain and a nice location in a good neighborhood. Mary is always accessible if you need anything. Also great to have the pool available after a nice bike or run on the trails right down the street. I highly recommend.
Julie's place is as advertised. It is close to all winter park has to offer. Also, a 2 minute walk to a trail for walking and biking. She is very friendly and attentive to your needs. She even asked me what I ate for breakfast, and supplied me with peanut butter and bananas as well as fruit in my room. I would definitely stay here again.
We met Julie very briefly. She asked us what we would like for breakfast. I didn't feel the listing was very accurate. It's pretty far from historic Winter Park (to walk or bike). I felt it wasn't that clean. Also AC was off! It is in a residential area. Continental breakfast was a nice perk though.
While we are a short drive from Park Ave, and guests have cycled there in about 25 minutes the listing doesn't say that we are walking distance from Park Avenue. When guests arrive I always ask them to let me know (or call me) if they need anything including breakfast choices, and any concerns. The a/c was on and could have been easily adjusted to any temperature if asked. We are in a residential area. I apologize if there was any miscommunication.
Julie is a wonderful, welcoming, and accommodating host. My boyfriend and I had a great time. The place was exactly as pictured and described, and we took advantage of as much as possible, including the patio each morning for breakfast and relaxing, and the pool during the afternoons. We didn't get a chance to use her bikes, but she kindly made them available. The neighborhood is quiet and lovely, with parks within walking distance, and great restaurants and shops just a few minutes drive (or a really cheap Uber ride) away.
Julie is really friendly and helpful, but also left us to enjoy our weekend. Perfect balance. Would absolutely stay there again if I get back to the area.
Julie was a great host- very kind and amiable. She made sure that anything my partner and I wanted was within her reach to provide. The space was definitely charming-- a small clean space. It did not seem as though we were attached to the main house at all! Overall, our stay was very pleasant and I would definitely return!
Had the perfect stay. Julie was great and very accommodating. Enjoyed sitting in the sun by the pool. Good breakfasts, nice neighborhood, all worked well. Thanks so much.
Julie was absolutely wonderful. I felt like I was staying with a friend, she made me feel so welcome. The room was great, with its own private entrance right by the pool. There was also a cozy screened patio we were able to sit on and relax. Julie stocked the fridge on the patio with plenty of water, milk, and juice and had all of our favorite breakfast foods. She even had a basket of fruit, snacks, and chocolate in the room. She won me over with the chocolate!! It's like she already knew me! I stayed with my three-year-old son and Julie brought him books to read and left a coloring book in the room. He also had his own special towel.
This was my first experience renting a room on Airbnb and I'm so glad I did it. It was much better than any five-star hotel I could've stayed in. It was also in a wonderful neighborhood. I'm so grateful to have met Julie and stayed at her place. She went way above and beyond anything I could have expected.
About the Host, Julie
I grew up in England where bed and breakfasts are very popular! I have travelled extensively, and love meeting people from all over the world. We recently had a 16 year old German Exchange student stay with us for six months and had a lot of fun showing her around.
I know the Winter Park/Orlando area very well, and worked for many years as a Concierge/tour guide for a large travel firm here. I can give all sorts of advice on great restaurants, best beaches, and tips for the theme parks! There is so much to experience in Florida, from great scenic day trips to some of the best theme parks in the world. I also have plenty of local travel guides and brochures on property. If you have any questions please call or e. mail and I will respond the same day.
