The Neighborhood

Winter Park is a GREAT place to visit, and is full of history. We live a short drive from Park Avenue which has many festivals and events throughout the year, along with great dining choices and shopping. There are many lakes around our area, providing a great backdrop for the perfect sunset. We are two blocks from Winter Pines golf course, which has great rates. We love Cady Way trail which runs through our street, and is 6.5 miles long. It also links to other trails. It is used by bikers and walkers, and winds through Baldwin Park, and ends up at the Fashion Square Mall. Our guests are very welcome to use our bikes. Within a mile there are tennis courts, a movie/dining theatre, Starbucks, Wholefoods, bowling alley and large ymca outdoor pool.

Winter Park train station is about a five minute drive, downtown Orlando 15 minutes and OIA or Sanford airports 30 minutes.

  • We loved staying with Julie!

She was so friendly, warm and helpful: She supplied all that we needed for our day to the beach, including a beach umbrella, chairs and a cooler. For our next day, she supplied a backpack for our visit to the theme parks.

She gave us a wide array of choices for breakfast and had it waiting for us at the time that we needed.

We liked the space. It was nice to have our own entrance and our own screened patio to dine and hang out in.

The downtown of Winter Park is very near and we would have ridden her bikes there if we had more time.

Very nice lady! Very nice space!

  • My time at Julie's place was absolutely perfect! This was the first time I've stayed in a room vs. renting out an entire home and quite honestly, it felt like my own little apartment. Julie's home is located in a great Winter Park neighbourhood, the entrance is private and the room itself is exactly as in her pictures. It smelled amazing and she had a beautiful fruit basket, mini fridge with fresh orange juice and milk, a coffee maker with lots of tea bags, sugar, coffee filters and little snacks, and the private bathroom was fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, hand lotion, shower gel, listerine and fresh towels. She was extremely accommodating with check-in and check-out and was even nice enough to prepare a late breakfast one of the mornings. I highly recommend staying in this little haven if you're looking for a nice neighbourhood to call home while visiting Orlando. Although the weather was rainy, there's a great pool and even bikes to go for rides in the area. Thanks for being such a warm and welcoming host

  • What a lovely stay my husband and I had with Julie! We have stayed in many nice places in Winter Park, but her place was by far the best. Our room was spacious, clean, and was equipped with everything that we needed. We enjoyed having breakfast and visiting with Julie each morning. She was very knowledgeable about the area. We will definitely stay with Julie next time we head to Winter Park!

  • My visit was perfect! The space provided is more than adequate offering much privacy. I am a Florida native, and grew up frequenting the Winter Park area, so I am very familiar as to it has to offer. I love the area very much and Julie's place made me feel at home again. She is a perfect host offering abundant amenities while maintaining your privacy. The weather was outstanding and I was lucky to enjoy some relaxation time in and by the pool. I took advantage of the bikes as my transportation as most desired destinations are within 5 miles of any direction. When visiting Winter Park, I recommend Smart Coffee (near corner of Park Ave/ Fairbanks) for their organic roasts and excellent Latte's. Frenchy's (on Park Ave mid-park) pastries makes an excellent almond croissant. 118º (near corner of Morse/ Park Ave) is a raw food restaurant with an excellent mission/concept if you are vegan or able to enjoy a meat and dairy free meal. They make outstanding juices and ice cream you would swear had a true dairy cream base, also offering lunch and dinner entrees.
My visit was more than to be expected. I will be back specifically to stay with Julie. Thank you again.

  • Julie was a really great host. We had a nice room with the possibility of preparing tea and a fridge with drinks in there, a private bathroom and really good breakfast. Everything was tidy and clean.

When we told Julie, which parks we want to visit in Orlando she had recommendations for us, where to buy tickets at a good price. This was totally helpful because we otherwise would have never known. Moreover she told us what is worth to visit in Winter Park. We had a really nice stay, thank you Julie!

About
I grew up in England where bed and breakfasts are very popular! I have travelled extensively, and love meeting people from all over the world. We recently had a 16 year old German Exchange student stay with us for six months and had a lot of fun showing her around. I know the Winter Park/Orlando area very well, and worked for many years as a Concierge/tour guide for a large travel firm here. I can give all sorts of advice on great restaurants, best beaches, and tips for the theme parks! There is so much to experience in Florida, from great scenic day trips to some of the best theme parks in the world. I also have plenty of local travel guides and brochures on property. If you have any questions please call or e. mail and I will respond the same day.
