The flat itself was lovely, spacious and clean, and everything worked. Rosa speaks limited English, but at least we could hold a conversation over the phone. I would give it 5 stars except that, location-wise, the flat is on the 4th floor (no elevator!) and quite a walk from the old town centre (30-40mins), but OK if you are driving - maybe that's the reason for the really attractive pricing! There is free public parking approx. 5 minutes' walk away.
Highly Recommended. Truly a home away from home. We stayed THREE weeks in the spring of 2013 in Rosa & Leonardo's flat, and felt at home from the minute Leonardo opened the door after carrying our bags (and waiting for us on the table was a cake and bottle of wine) till we regretfully closed and locked it for the last time yesterday. Clean, well appointed and furnished with all a guest requires.
Everything is as it appears on the Airbnb site and I mention but a few, not in any particular order: excellent WiFi; very clean and comfortable bedding and towels, VERY hot water almost instantaneously; microwave oven; TV (though we didn't use it, i assume it works); lots of storage for clothing and luggage (we had more than the usual, for our extended two month trip); minor problems attended to by Leonardo without delay; and excellent communication with hosts - Rosa responds to e-mails within hours or at most a day, in very passable English.
I rated this accommodation 4 out of 5 stars only because of the fact that it is on the forth floor of a walk-up, and not everyone will be able to climb the 82 steps.
Rosa and Leonardo, we appreciated your hospitality and enjoyed being your guests. Would love to reciprocate.
Appartement bien, proche du centre-ville de Parme. Nous avons été très bien reçus par le mari de Rosalba qui nous a cherché à la gare, et avec un bon gâteau maison à la noix de coco qui a été bien apprécié pour le petit-déjeuner !
Ottima esperienza! consigliato!
This apartment is the perfect place to stay. Rosalba and her husband were beyond kind. They helped us in so many ways. We were very excited to have the opportunity to cook and just stay in a very comfortable apartment. Rosealba made a delicious cake that we enjoyed for breakfast. There is the ability to make espresso and cappuccino. We were very happy. We hope to stay again. Thank you for everything. Spacious and clean!
Big and good.
We had a great stay. The apartment is large and very nice, and within easy walking distance to the city, the park, supermarket and restaurants. Our hosts kindly picked us up from the station and were very friendly and helpful. We really appreciated the lovely cake. Thank you!
We spent 2 nights in one of Rosalba's apartments and had a great time. The place is very clean and nice to live in, and Rosalba left us a delicious cake for breakfast!
Apartment was bright and warm, with everything you need. We were picked up form the train station which was wonderful, thank you!
Great apartment! My husband and I stayed here while visiting our son, and it met all of our needs perfectly! Close to our son's apartment and within a short walking distance of central Parma. Lots of places nearby to pick up an espresso or panini, and a short walk to a grocery store when we prefered to cook for ourselves. Plus, the apartment had air conditioning, wi-fi and a clothes washer!
Rosalba was available via internet to answer all our questions, and made special arrangements for our son to pick up the key to the apartment early.
We were surprised to find a delicious cake waiting for us upon arrival, which was the perfect snack after a long trip from the USA.
We will definately stay here again if our son remains in Parma.
